Her Story - Polygon's GotY ! *Sighs*

Yeah it's true , Polygon announced Her Story as their Game of the Year !

i haven't played this game but i know what type of game it is and i would play it for 10 bucks ..... in a year where we had Super Mario Maker, TW3, MGS V, Rocket League, etc .... it's nonsensical to choose this game as GotY imo , some may argue it's even barely a game ... i don't know, it just feels wrong.

There's no sign of TW3 either, man their list sucks.

I would've respected their opinion if they weren't bunch of try hards. Honest choice > Trying hard.

Still need to play that. Surprised they didn't go for Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson.

I think Polygon got their real choice overridden by bullies. They ranked them,

• 10. Rocket League
• 8. SOMA (Tie)
• 8. Splatoon (Tie..yeah, its weird they dont have a number nine, but respect their opinion.)
• 7. Life is Strange
• 6. Destiny Expansion? (O yeahhh)
• 5. Fallout 4 ( If it aint broke, dont fix it!)
• 4. Super Mario Maker
• 3. MGS5 (Unfinished games are still awesome bro.)
• 2. Bloodborne ( Watchout CoD and Madden, a new yearly release is in town.)
• 1. Her Story ( Fack you Witcher, yous a women hater.)

Probably one of the worst list i have seen so far.

They picked the game they liked most this year. Don't see the problem. Just because they aren't regurgitating what every other site is saying doesn't make it bad.

I'm sure that when they have game of the decade awards, it will be there. Believe!

They gave GOTY back in 2013 to Gone Home. We both know why Her Story won their GOTY because fvck good gameplay and level design right? If it was an award from a website with good track record, I would've taken it seriously.

Polygon wasn't under my radar till this year , i did follow their reviews and stuff, mostly satisfied and seemed legit ... but it seems that they go south when it comes to GotY.

Also, the website is a JOKE. They named Witcher 3 the best open world rpg, http://www.polygon.com/2015/12/31/10692894/witcher-3-2015-best-open-world-game, yet is not mentioned in top 10.

Something pretty pathetic in complaining about a game of the year list, especially for a website they don't even like.

Not that I like Polygon. But Destiny in the top 10 is more amusing than Her Story at no. 1, but I wont get mad about someone's list. But of course, it's easy to pick on something that looks like it automagically gets booked by the "Not a game" police or think it's some game about gender equality just by looking at the title. Slight Spoiler: The Protagonist is a nympho that slept around.

Her Story is certainly one of the most unique games I played this year (Alongside Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes). And what the game accomplished worked really well where plotting and storytelling was dependent on your own curiosity and preferences. It generated this cool non linear drip fed story with memorable revelations, (mostly) well integrated sub-plots and it even delivered some bright points in song that fed back to the central drama.

It's nowhere in my top 10. But I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I respect their choice.

The people at Polygon will always try to push a political agenda into everything, this noisy fringe minority should be treated with nothing but contempt and summarily dismissed and ignored.

My advice would be to never link their website and never post or regurgitate any of their poorly masked bile and intolerance of others who do not blindly follow their rhetoric.
