Not me. Not enough games to enjoy on the system to make it worth the upgrade.
Maybe in a few years time with a proper discount, and some good bundle games or something (assuming the PS4 starts getting good games between now and then).
I nearly talked myself into it. Then talked myself out of it. Then thought I might get it anyway. I know I'll definitely get it if they announce strong Pro support for FFXV. Otherwise, dunno.
I'm not getting it anytime soon since I barely use my PS4 that I currently have. Plus, Scorpio will be more powerful, so I'll trade in my current Xbox One for Scorpio when it is released so that I have the most powerful console and I'll just stick with my current vanilla PS4.
Most reviews are stating that while it's a nice upgrade to the PlayStation 4, it's not exactly justifiable if already own one, you will see differences but it's not substantial or shocking.
The trend seem to hinge on having extra money and a 4K TV, while the 4K TV is implied by default, talking about if you have extra money around that you don't really care about leads to the conclusion of a frivolous non-essential purchase.
I likely will not be buying one.
I was going to get one until they announced that it wouldnt improve games without a patch.
It should be able to improve frame rates and reduce resolution scaling like Xbox One S
That was a conscious decision by Sony, one I don't agree with. It nerf's the system down to PS4 spec so resulting games will function as they did previously.
Microsoft's approach is considerably smarter, allowing unpatched games to hit the maximum's of their coded capabilities by using the advanced compute capabilities of the system.
Yes, I already made up my mind to not buying PS4 Pro as soon as it was announce! My launch PS4 is still kicking ass, why do I need this Pro for? Pro isn't getting exclusive games and I'll be playing the same exclusive games rather I do have PS4 Pro, I'm not missing much. Nope, never gonna buy Pro.
Not yet. I'll likely wait for two things: 1) further announcements of support for games I care to play; and 2) if FFXV ends up getting a patch and winds up being a game worth upgrading for, then I'll be in the market. If RDR2 is substantially better on Pro/Scorpio than on X1/PS4, I will reconsider.

What blows my mind more than anything is that Driveclub and Bloodborne are not getting framerate increases.
They need to offer 60fps/1080p or 1080p (downscaled from 1440p)/Ultra settings/same fps as the original PS4 in every game. If that's a thing, then selling the OG ps4 and getting the Poo is worth it.
Nope. Piss poor 1TB HDD means I will have to put another HDD in as I had to with my current PS4, because they wont let me have an external like I can for my Xboner. So sorry Sony, you haven't given me enough reason to upgrade.
Pass.

Driveclub makes sense because of the closure and acquisition of Evolution Studios. There are licensing barriers for them to work on Driveclub in any capacity again (plus it's way past its sales prime) and Sony's focus should be - and is - on Gran Turismo moving forward (though I have my misgivings about Polyphony's management).
Bloodborne is a bit more of a head-scratcher. I can only reason that FromSoftware is preoccupied with other projects and can't commit the resources without causing delays to their games' release windows. Bloodborne is also beyond its sales prime, but that's hard to use an excuse when other AAA hits (like TLOU:R) received patches. I guess fixing the framepacing must mandate a level of investment and time that Sony doesn't want to absorb right now.
I sware that Sony and Microsoft both know their consumers are disappointed this gen and are just trying to cash in by offering a "better" experience.
No. I want one... but for the same reason I want an X1S: this animal lust for any new tech I can play with. There is no actual reason for me to own one. Well, some boosts to 1080p games here or there as patched, but IMO the biggest benefit is if you have an HDR 4K TV. Which I do not.
I'm buying it. I sold my PS4 like 3 months ago so pretty easy decision. If you don't own a PS4 buying a slim over the Pro is a bad decision.
I'm surprised a strong majority are saying no.I'd would have figured otherwise, wow, really shocked. To answer the question of topic, yes I'm planning to pick one up when I get my income tax back, probably around March/April.Right now I live from pay to pay,so can't right now. :(
I don't think I will. the improvement it has doesn't really matter to me not to mention I don't really have a 4K TV and not planning on buying one this early.
I'm getting it for 1080p..... I'm all about image quality and for me a native, down sampled 1080p image is the best.
Not that I really want one, but it's the upgraded version console I want that will play future games for the console I want better.
So why not.
Not anytime soon, I'm more interested in the Switch than the Pro. Maybe when Spider-Man, Horizon, & Days Gone release, I might cave. Scorpio is what entices me the most though.
Seriously why no Bloodborne upgrade? From the reviews, it seems it's a minor upgrade and not worth upgrading if you have a Playstation 4 already, if you have the extra cash and are a graphics enthusiast/cow, go for it...lol
No, at least not yet. I think the improvements are too low to warrant getting a new model. I would like the boost in VR, but compared to my PC, I probably wouldn't even notice the differences between the original 4 and Pro. However, there was one opportunity they missed: If they allowed a 3.5'' HDD or a 15mm 2.5'' HDD, it would have been day 1 for me. It's a stupid idea to sell a hardcore system and not allow for big harddrives. It's just as stupid as selling a 4k compatible Ps4 which doesn't support 4k BluRays (or a PS Vr with no HDR pass-through). Maybe I'll get one if it is a nice version, like a Persona 5 special edition or something like that.
Maybe if i had the $$$. Between the Pro, PSVR, a 4k TV and all the new games I have yet to pick up this year...yeah. That's a lot of f***ing money. I think I'll stick with my OG PS4.
