Bungie may return to Halo in the future after Reach. I can't say I blame them, it is one of the most successful series and if they don't make it Microsoft will find someone else who will.

Ah okay, I wasn't sure as I don't follow the behind the scenes of Halo.Yepper, we still have 2 more prequels to look forward to since Reach is only the first.
Think Lucas and Star Wars. :P
we need a short break from Halo. If you push so many game at one time like this it can kill a franchise. I have a feeling that once 383 industries takes over Halo it will be like the COD situation. A new Halo every year, 1 by Bungie, 1 by 383 and we will have the dev fanboys :PII_Seraphim_IIThat could happen but that's a just wait situation. I was expecting Gears Of War 3 this year since Halo ODST was last year.

I can agree with that. If you push to much into a franchise quickly it kills it off. Final Fantasy has been going for many many years and there not pushing it out as fast as they can.

close its 343 industries as long as they don't make a name for themselves we'll keep making mistakes like thiswe need a short break from Halo. I personally want multiple points of view in the war. Like playing as a marine, Imagine how intense that would be since a single burst of the battle rifle is leathal. or playing as an elite. there lots of potential left.

That is the future. Or maybe even the Forerunners a game where the only enemy is the flood. It could be the nexxt hour of victory
No the metal gear and god of war threads are that wayOh goody! New iterations of an unimpressive rehashed game!

Personally, I want as many Halo games as possible, I'm just don't want it to get saturated and then get crappier in quality because if Halo died out, that would be a pretty sad day :(
[QUOTE="peanutbudduh"]How is it milking a series if every game has been AAA?Mograine
Milking means pushing a franchise or a series over its original plans, sometimes even not by the same developer. Scores do not mean anything.
BS, there is no way that Bungie anyone can say the Halo series has been pushed over its original plan. Its a great series that keeps bringing us wonderful games, so why stop? There is no reason. None. Its just like FF. We all the way to XXlll now, and you wont find a single decent gamer complaining because its an enjoyable series and most like going to be a great game. As soon as the games start to take a hit, and aren't enjoyable (that doesn't mean to you, but rather the general public), then you can call it milking.[QUOTE="peanutbudduh"]How is it milking a series if every game has been AAA?Mograine

Milkage usually means selling a game on name alone. Example Mario being put into party/random games to get people to buy it.Microsoft can't survive without Halo. There'll be more games in the franchise, but will M$ run it into the ground using 'lesser' devs? Let's be honest, if the 360 is going to last another five years, then its going to need more Halo as that and CoD are the only really big selling games on the machine. Oh, and Gears of War too.......
halo kart halo party halo fighting game ....
And yet you have one of the most milked series MGS in your gamercard. How was that MGS iphone game by the way?Oh goody! New iterations of an unimpressive rehashed game!

[QUOTE="TintedEyes"]I wonder if Bungie can excel at anything other than Halo.opex07Bungie made several critically acclaimed games before Halo, like the myth series, and Marathon series. And Oni. They need to make a sequel to that.

MGS1 '98 MGS2 '01 MGS3 '04 MGS4 '08...yes 4 titles (6 including Portable Ops and Peace Walker on PSP) in 12 years!!! Yeah milking!!! Halo CE '01, Halo 2 '04 Halo 3 '07...Halo Wars '09 (not by bungie, I know) ODST '09....4 titles (excluding Wars) in 8 years...can you see the latest trend? Developing firstly 3 years and lately 2 years for a new iteration? (Halo) Versus 3 years and even up to 4 years for each iteration? (MGS) Tell me which franchise is rahashing.Oh goody! New iterations of an unimpressive rehashed game!
