Edit: i was trying to get some Uncharted 3 map pictures to compare to HL2, but they are all in photomode only or bullshots.

lol, if i was bias i would have not told anyone i was using mods, because most console gamers would not notice since they havent played HL2

What's the issue with mods?

The cinematic mod gives HL2 better textures resolution than UC3, and the res and image quality boost. But that is pretty much all it has over UC3, even with the cinematic mod, UC3 is easily the more technically advanced game.

I think TC is trolling if he expects any of us to believe that isn't insanely modded or that this doesn't really prove anything except that HL2 does not in fact look better without graphics mods.

Since some people are still choosing Uncharted 3 I'm also guessing this thread's original intention backfired kind of hard then as well.

I think his eyes are fine. Me? I see a bunch of people also picking Uncharted 3, and I find it hard to believe such a disproportionate amount of GS users would have faulty eyesight over one person, who may very well have eyesight problems considering all the time said person might spend looking closely at their monitor to judge graphics.

I have played Uncharted 3 on my PS3, and I can guarantee it does not look so pixalated and rough.

Its ridiculous to say that brcause U3 got a blur patch you can use a fully modded game as a fair comparison. The PC has such a huge hardware advantage that you can boost the image quality and texture resolution to absurd levels with older games not to mention the modding community has had like 7 years to work on this game. And even then uncharted 3 on my dinky 16inch SD TV is not as ugly as the screens you posted. Then you think that its fair game to use a multiplayer model to compare to a fully modded, maxed out single player model? You sir are an idiot. I normally wouldn't say that but indeed, you lack brains.

U3 looks better from a tech standpoint(though I prefer the look of HL2 way more) and it´s impressive what mods can get you for a 7 year old game instead of a dev/publisher making you pay for one of those HD remasters like we´ve been seeing lately.

Uncharted 3 looks better to me overall.

Sure there's jaggies, but overall the image is more detailed and the character models are much better.

Also, Half Life's artsyle is ridiculously bland.

no it doesnt, especially not in motion, you notice dynamic shadows and really nice physics in HL2, in UC3, its mostly static and full of ugly textures/shadows

Considering the intense denial and backfiring here for TC, I feel compelled to make this my sig.

Its just so epic, especially when every response is basically "teh blind consolites" as an excuse.

I mean jeez man, we get it. Uncharted 3 looks great brah :cool:

HL2 looks pretty great too with those mods, definitely takes the aging off a bit, but it doesn't really look like a current generation game as much as it just looks like a last gen game with graphical mods, which it is.

Hardly any game comes close to that.

But I have to say one thing about where HL2s Cinematic Mod does show its age: the draw distance is terrible
