GTA V has sold 3 million copies only on steam

1- it's a 2 years old game

2- it's still 59$ on steam

3- you can get it from Rockstar’s Social Club or buy its retail copy

4- there's no mod support

So let me see, Steam with an install base of like what, 100 million? sells less copies of GTA V than Xbox One with a 15 million install base. lame.

That's not official, and wow, that's a small amount of sales. I guess the early console releases really cut into potential sales. I started it on PS3 and on PS4. Going through some of the game's motions again for a third time is sickening to think about.

I went on and buy GTAV for 360 back at launch cause I wasn't gonna wait for PC version. I'm impatience, I wanna play a game now then later. Beat it on 360, and later wait for PC version to start my second playthrough. I was etching to play it again so I held off doing it on 360 until PC version was release.

Understandable. I expect overall sales (GMG, Rockstar Social Club, Physical copy and so on) to be much higher but still nowhere near as much as Console sales because it's a 2 years late port. On top of that, they are also charging full price for it and that price is also 10 bucks more than most big PC Games. That's the reason why I also haven't played the game yet. Waiting for it to become dirt cheap.

Disgusting! This game deserve no sales at all on PC.

Why pay 60 dollars on steam when it was cheaper to buy outside of it

I don't know why people are bashing or coming off as surprised. Typically, games that have high marketing budgets, especially to the level of GTAV, sell more on consoles. This is pretty much a given.

Even if the PC version came out on the same day as the console version, the PC version wouldn't have outsold the PS4 version.

On the other hand, games that have lower marketing budgets tend to do better on PC than on one specific console.

Selling a 2 year old game at full price, who do Rockstar think they are, Nintendo?

why drop price if it still sells

Steam has tons of games though, more options to buy different stuff.

But PC has 4-5x the AAA/AA games than PS4 in the same time frame, so people may buy other things ;)

GTA comes to PC and sells AT LEAST 3 million. Consolites come in and say:

I've been almost exclusively playing on PC for about 14 years and I bought it on console and sold it once I got near the end of the game. Haven't bought it on PC yet. I'm sure there's a lot of people in the same boat.

if xbone and ps4 had 1000 games to buy gta v would still destroy the pc sales. its the best game the pc platform has got in many years.
