Greatest sequel/expansion to an original game?

For me it's Starcraft: Broodwar. One of those rare times the sequel completely surpassed the original and made all the right changes. The new units added a whole new level of fun to the game. And nothing really felt compromised from the original, just better. Heart of the Swarm ain't got nuttin' on dat! (spelled it like that to blend in). How about you, SW?

Sequel: Every Civilization sequel is better, IMO, than the last. New Vegas was infinitely better than Fallout 3. Skyrim was better than Oblivion. Super Mario World was better than all of its predecessors. Gran Turismo 2 was much better than 1...

This list can go on and on...

For true sequels, obviously the G.O.A.T, Streets of Rage 2. As far as expansion packs go:

Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith - Giant levels, new weapons, new and all previous dark and light side Force powers at your disposal, and starring my favorite female Jedi, Mara Jade. If it came out today, it would have been its own game rather than being an expansion pack or DLC.

Baldurs Gate 2 is the correct answer here.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is so masterful it makes the masterpiece that was the first game feel redundant and actually shows its flaws. There's very few games out there better than SMG2, period.

Fully fledged sequels. (Going on the basis of how much better they are than the original).

Expansion - Shivering Isles or Fallout 3 Point Lookout

I'd say the Borderlands have great expansion packs for the most part (although Mad Moxxi's Underdome riot and Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt were meh). Secret Armory of General Knoxx, Mr Torgue's Campaign of carnage and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep are arguably better than the main games. This is assuming you like the games in the first place and I know a lot of people here don't but I do.

But Majora's Mask is the best sequel ever. It is, after all, the best game of all time.

Pretty much,Baldurs Gate was a top quality RPG and one of the best in a long time,the sequel tho,bested it in every possible way and it´s one of the all time greatest games,possibly the best RPG ever made..
