Have you got the Beta yet?

What are your impressions so far?

I will post a detailed hands-on in a couple of hours maybe? Or maybe tomorrow.

Looks pretty good in motion. Still not a fan of Gears MP though so the beta does nothing for me.

Just got my download code and access code while I was at work. I'll let you know my thoughts after I play a few rounds and get murdered by people who played Gears way more than I did lol.

It's only MP, right?

I was more interested in trilogy than the first game, so I'll probably pass.

@Salt_The_Fries Yeah. It has social match and competitive match. Today has a focus on two maps and two game modes.

Why do we need this? We got backwards compatibility.

Mechanically, it's Gears 3, which is wonderful. Shame the movement speed is still like Gears 1. It's so slow.

It looks nice though and 60FPS is smooth.

MS releasing a remaster and saying the original game works on the Xbone.

And the PC version exists.

I've played some matches, I really love 60fps and it looks a lot better than Gears 3, and yeah, my gripe with it is that it's slow when it comes to movement. This promotes camping plus baiting with a shotgun. I've still had plenty of fun anyway.

Oh and you cannot record any clips, you can only take screenshots.

I'll gladly take this version over that one though. Gears of War is such a rough game. This isn't.

No. The original has several terrible glitches like crab walking and flipping out of the map, as well as host having a massive, unfair advantage. Not to mention that nobody will be playing it now.

How is it in terms of health? I found Gears 3 was too easy to get killed, so I always like the first two games better.

Not sure there is a single thing that could get me to spend my money on more gears I already own. That said, I'm thrilled for my buddies who can't wait for it. Seems like a big package of content.

Unless they throw some more added pizazz and change graphics in a more dramatic way. I don't see the reason why there wouldn't be room for both. But then again this "ruin remasters" slogan...Doesn't everybody on SW hate them anyway?

Btw, how do you get in the preview program?

I don't hate remasters. I just don't need them.And with BC why spend 30 bucks on an updated game when you can find the original for 2 bucks

Going to play it tonight and we shall see.....I am kinda hyped to have that old Gears feeling back again.

I think that overall it was good but they need to work out some of the smaller bugs (which is what this beta is for obviously)

MS sent me 4 codes and I have one left for anyone that wants it. Also have 2 Smite keys

1080p/60fps?

I downloaded GeoW HD Beta and it took forever to install 'cause Xbone's slow installs, but I haven't played it yet.

I'll try it tomorrow with friends who plan on playing or not at all.

Beta's just don't excite me, especially Betas of HD remastered games that I spent 100's of hours with...

Plus, I have a backlog of AAA completed games to finish.

Damn I need an Xbone now! Gears of War 1 one my all time favorite shooter!!!

I'm grabbing the halo bundle as soon as I'm back in home. Unfortunately that won't be for another month :/

Please release a beta for the PC version

Signed up for it, haven't checked my email yet or downloaded whatever it is I need.

Saw a video online, there was an option in the main page for "social" and "competitive". Does "social" include a Horde mode?

It's a pain in the ass to try to get to work, and now Xbox Live is being a bitch and has made it impossible for me to even matchmake. Is this like the Microsoft thing for remasters? Break the multiplayer?

@SolidTy: Don't assume it takes long to install for everybody. Mine didn't. And all matches took me less than 5 seconds to find 7 other people.

I didn't bring up everybody. You seem extra defensive today, but it's all good.

Don't assume I was speaking for everybody, as it's a small file to DL. However, for GeoW being a smaller file since it's just a beta, it took longer than it should have 'cause Xbone. No bigs.

That said, I am glad that you are enjoying GeoW as a franchise suddenly. It's been around since 2006, which is when I bought my C.E. copy of GeoW 1. I have heard mixed complaints about this beta, but I'm sure your experience has been wonderful.

I have friends that want to play tomorrow, but if they bail I'm not playing GeoW with randoms. I mastered GeoW many years ago and quite frankly I find this remaster a bit pointless since the original game is still online. IMO after years with the GeoW MP, the only way to play GeoW is with friends.

This game was an easy pass for me, but the PC announcement has me considering it. Need a fun game to play while I shoot the shit with some PC buds.

Not sure if it has cross-play, hopefully.

The gunplay feels great, but the movement speed when you are moving through the level feel so slow. I didn't remember Gears feeling this slow until I started running and then it all came back to me. I had a good time playing it though. Have they released a price for this yet?

It's downloaded and ready to go, I just haven't had the opportunity to play it yet. Gonna try to... maybe tonight but I have plans. :S Maybe before then, I dunno. Probably gonna have to wait till tomorrow.

Played last night and had a blast. Playing the same 2 maps is a little redundant, but I will definitely pick this up as long as it's sub $30

DL'ed the beta but it kept telling me " something went wrong" I dunno, it seems I may have got to different invites to the beta so later I tried the other but was done with games for the night and later went to bed without looking to see if it worked. Will check it later today to see if I'm in.

Lol, I feel like a King lem, sending half of SW those codes :D But yeah, I'll send it to you in an hour coz I'm about to go for a stroll with my baby.
