Gears of War 2 Looks MUCH Better From Gears 1 (56k)

if you cant see it, your just a blind fanboy, Gears 2 makes a major graphical leap from Gears 1

While i know its the atmosphere and such..

that Draw distance REALLY annoyes me..god..the seriously need to remove that IMO..its the only thing annoying about the graphics in Gears 2

those aren't 2d bacgrounds. I'm not even sure if there were ANY 2d bacgrounds in Gears 1.

these are multiplayer screens. the campaign screens are higher quality, as they are in all games.WillieBeamish

and the second one was from the gears 1 campaign, you can tell because theirs dialouge on the bottom, and a box in the left informing you of your next objective

There main difference is the time of day in that scene. Sunset trumps middle of the day every single time

Yeah being the biggest Ps3 fan here i think even i can admit Gears 2 will be good, depending on the story. If they throw out a trash story like the first one, that would be... bad. hmm i need to work on my vocabulary

That's a bad comparison, the first one shows off the effects, which are obviously improved but it doesn't compare the textures or the close up background like the second one does. The worse lighting in the second one hides some of the detail but the detail is essentially the same.

A minor leap in graphics. It still looks great though.

Thats a terrible first screen, there are jaggies everywhere. The only real diff I see is more detail on marcus' armor. Which doesnt mean its a better texture, simly a different one.

As for the second set of gears pics posted, i'm calling shenanigans on thats second screen. No gameplay I have seen looks like that and Epic is notorious for bullshots.

I'm not talking about Gears 2. I will make my judgement when I actually play the game. It seems from their posts that they think Gears of War has superior textures compared to Uncharted and if they think that way, I'm letting them know they are wrong. This is not subjective.

If it looks as good as the first one, that's good enough.
