Crysis got bored pretty fast also it had terrible multiplayer shouldve gotten a 8.5 i guess the graphics saved this game.
Which ones you don't think deserved a 9? you mind putting them in bold? just wondering.YuriSH
Those ones.
[QUOTE="jjccjj92"]I wonder how many people saying Oblivion actually played it at release and not 4 years later or something. Yeah, it's nothing special nowadays, but at the time, it without a doubt deserved its score.quijeros
Why should it matter when I played the game? It's not like it changed any over the years, and there's nothing else that I've played that would sway my opinion about it. I still think that it's boring with mediocre combat and bad voice acting. At least there's plenty of mods for it.
Others that I didn't particularly like were MW2, Bioshock, GTA IV (though I really enjoyed Gay Tony), Bad Company 2, and World of Goo (I think I gave up on this one too quickly; I'll have to give it another go).
That's like playing Half Life 1 today for the first time and saying it sucks. Time has passed and standards have changed, just as they have with Oblivion. It was one of the first games released on 360 and for the time, it was impressive. Everything from it's graphics, its huge open world, fully voiced NPCs, ect were very impressive back in 2006. Those things are commonplace now. You can't play the game nowadays and claim it's terrible without having experienced it back when it was a new game.I do agree with everyone saying Fallout 3 though. It sucked in 2008 and it sucks even harder now.
Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 not because they're terrible games, but because these games are given too much praise. I've rescued the princess nine thousand times, all Nintendo does is add a "twist" and call it a new Mario game. Super Mario had Yoshi, Mario 64 was in 3D, Mario Sunshine had the water canon, SMG had gravity involved with waggle controls, SMG 2 added Yoshi (again). They're repackaging the same **** over and over. GOTY my ass. HoolaHoopManlol, have you actually played SMG2? Yoshi wasn't the best part...the level design was. I doubt you've ever ran overhead on a square planet, dug into the earth to on a 2D plain, kill an enemy, grab a star and back again. So much creative stuff that makes me wanna play it again. I would describe more epicness, but my laptop's keyboard is garbage. It's alright not to like the game, but saying it's the repackaging is laughable.
Perfect Dark and Dragon Age origins. I've played pretty much every console AAA this gen and while I don't think they all deserved a 9 (like odst) I did enjoy them all. But those 2 were just awefull imo. PD is pretty much agreed on it seems and Dragon Age I just couldn't get into. especially its battle system.I just couldn't get the strategy down and after many hours still didn't have a clue on how to play that game correctly.
I forgot to mention LittleBigPlanet. It's a dull, terrible platformer. I was interested in creating levels, but it's very time-consuming.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is another one. The game was very easy; all you had to do was press X to win. Zack even runs up to the enemy by himself. The DMW reel was annoying. It would enter the modulation phase every 5 seconds during a boss fight. You have no control over this slot machine. It felt like the game was the one fighting the boss. The script was dreadful; it was mostly gothic-poetry.
Dragon Age: Origins
I love a good RPG, but the combat in this game just felt weird, clunky and uninspired. All in all, I find it incredibly boring, but I'll probably end up giving it yet another chance some time.
I agree with everyone who has said this. I find the gameplay very shallow and generally a bit cheesy. The recreational missions where the worst.Definitely GTA4.
