Such as almost every one of them who posts here when posters come in and ask: what has Microsoft brought to console gaming? Almost every one of them claim "online gaming" wouldn't exist today at all if it wasn't for XBL. Such bullshit.

I'd say more people see Xbox/360 as the console/'s that popularised online gameplay on consoles which they did. Part of that was just down to timing; more people had good internet connections (or internet connections at all) when the Xbox/360 came out than 10 years prior, but it was also down to them actually building a good infrastructure for online, knowing what people would want and expect from a convenient online gaming experience and then carrying that out.

I've spent years of my adult life trying to tell cows that Microsoft didn't introduce online gaming, or pay-to-play.

But they never listen. They'd rather keep Microsoft known as the "Evil of Gaming"

So, no names or evidence? I can see users claiming XBL brought console gaming up-to-speed but I have yet to see users say Microsoft was the first to do it. Granted, being "the first" is different from being the first to truly nail it and make it mainstream/popular. Although, I also remember semantics being played about motion controls and who was "first" as if it's relevant considering Nintendo made it mainstream. Why such petty pandering though?

Yes. Hide behind plausible deniability. Good job.

Don't even try to go there. I've read many, and I mean many comments from you going on and on about cows doing this and cows doing that. Lemmings stupidly try to pretend they are somehow more noble fanboys than cows are. What nonsense. Do not ever play the holier than thou card in a place like this.

MS didn't do it first but they perfected it and continue to evolve it.

By now it should be common sense that XBOX invented online play. KOTOR invented WRPG. Halo invented FPS. Gears of War invented TPS.

Maybe lemmings who started gaming in the PS2/xbox/GameCube Gen believe ms started online on consoles, but those of us who were not living with mommy by that time know different.

MS wasn't the first to do it on consoles, just the first to succeed, and change the face of gaming on the process.

But yeah, Sega was thinking ahead...
