Not saying it's a pos though... just that it reminded me of those threads. ;)
Really? This is what you come up with?
I still don't understand why they didn't have Nobuo Uematsu produce the music.
Vesica_Prime
Because he handed off the torch to an equally if not more competent composer?
The only nice theme is actually the battle theme.Sollet
I loved the battle theme as well as the boss music
though I did enjoy most of the games music, reminded me a bit of ghost in the shell at some points.
I will admit though that the fanfare doesn't hold a candle to this one

The composer that 'succeeded' him has done little to nothing that can even be compared to Terra's Theme, One Winged Angel, Chrono Trigger, the main theme of Super Smash Bros Brawl, Zanarkand, Dancing Mad.
Really? This is who you think compares to Nobuo Uematsu? That's funny, extremely funny.

...um yeah... no...no just no. there is no one as talented when it comes to rpg music and square game music and competent then Uematsu...thats just a simple fact. It's top 3 for most hyped titles this gen, and frankly, wasn't all that great. Not sure what you want... Titles get bashed for much less.Is everything going to be bashed about FF13?

Im sure he's not serious dude..
Are you sure? Some people really do think that the lack of the traditional theme is somehow a drop in "quality."

FFXIII's music wasnt anymore complex.

Yet Hamauzu was able to compose a better battle theme than Uematsu has ever been able to.
Plenty of other composers have composed works that rival Uematsu.

Yasunori Mitsuda
The Beginning and the End (Xenogears), Gnosis (Xenosaga Episode I), Battling KOS-MOS (Xenosaga Episode I),

He is most known for things like Aerith's theme. Great theme. But there are better composers.

Right now we're comparing Hamauzu with Nobuo, I don't know what you're playing at with posting audio that isn't arranged by him.

Sorry I misread what you wrote earlier as "who do you think compares to Uematsu?" not "This is who you think compares to uematsu."
Anyways, here are some great tracks from Hamauzu featured in FFXIII
The Warpath Home, Terra Incognita, Determination, and Atonement
