they were all let downs,
just pretty to look at is all they are
I'm guessing you never played Crysis or Warhead.
Looks like this poll proves that PC exclusive is still better than having multiplatform console dumbed down port
But there was really no reason for Crysis to have ended up like Crysis 2 even if it was ported to consoles. Only reason i can think it was ported to consoles was for the extra money knowing the game was a failure in the first place and hoped to get some sales on the FPS casuals that play on consoles. Considering i myself don't really find crysis like a good franchise anyways it just get's credit because 2 and 3 was just downhill from an already mediocre FPS experience with good ideas but lame execution. ( But then people wanna compare mediocre to CoD which is less than mediocre as well as many other genetic FPS that play like CoD )
I swear is like crytec kills some random person with a good idea and use it for a game and then they fck up because they killed the guy with the original idea and their stolen one is just crap tossed at the wall.
They limited game, lineared and dumbed down everything(even multiplayer) because focus was on consoles but consoles are too weak to run games and they had to remove awesome stuff.
Crytek even said that they wanted another big open world game but console limit did not let them to what they wanted.
Sounds like a poor excuse honestly.... There's plenty of big open world games like Just Cause / Far Cry 3 / Skyrim ( actually idk how big skyrim is ) / GTA 5 and 4 but there's big open world games. They would have had to lower the graphics on the console sure but that wouldn't have mattered much since they could just tune it up for PC. I think crytec was just going for the quick buck and you guys give it too much credit.
I think Crytek was following the Predator movies as inspiration. The first Predator was in the jungle. Hence, Crysis/Warhead. The second Predator was set in the city. Hence, Crysis 2. Crytek probably couldn't make Crysis 2 open world unless they made some big compromises on the graphics.

I owned both, that's where my disappointment started,
the whole game was set up as "you are the weapon"
not "you have to use weapons"
I thought you would really be this super soldier that was practically unstoppable,
but the gameplay wasn't like that.....
it was damn beautiful though

What would the point of the game be if you're unstoppable? Do you really think you can just punch and cloak your way through the game? You'll still need different weapons to get through the game.

not unstoppable, but like I said,
too many times you had to fall on weapons,
I thought it wouldn't be that way
All the Crysis games sucked to me with very little replay value.
Says a guy who don´t own even PC gaming and never played any Crysis. STFU CONSOLE FREAK!!!!
If there was ever a perfect example of consoles ruining a game series, Crysis is it. Anyone who disagrees didn't play Crysis on a high end pc when it was new. Crysis is still my favorite shooter ever. Crysis 2 played about 80% and got bored and quit. Crysis 3 played like 3 levels and quit.

What's the difference between playing it on a high-end PC then and playing it on a mid-end PC now?

It's an fps, of course you use weapons.
However you can try playing it with just fists. It's possible, but certainly a challenge.

even with the fists it sucked,
it was just a good looking game was all it was,
you get to this super suit, which can deflect bullets,
you have super strength, super speed
and can go invisible,
does that combination sound like you need guns?
@killatwill15: I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Most people really enjoyed Crysis. I felt the guns felt great too, I didn't find using guns a bad thing.

You have those abilities, but with limitations on how long you can use them. It makes sense. The most maneuverable jet fighter can still run out of fuel and missiles, The fastest car can still run out of gas or be stuck in traffic. Whatever provides the juice to the nanosuit can only sustain it for a few seconds. So the tactics used have to account for that liability. You still need weapons for the offensive stuff.

Crysis should have the Shadow Warrior Katana.
Actually ... that would still be using a weapon. But it would be really awesome.
