I think it's odd that Kinect is doing everything BUT Gaming.

It's a very nice sensor. A great piece of equpment.

In its current state, it's far too limiting. Does it have potential? I certainly do think so.funsohng
I agree with this.

Does anyone still deny that Kinect actually has good games?

Apparently so.

There will always be those that sh!t on any new innovation. The question is whether or not the device is good for gaming as an industry not if it has good games. As it's proven it has. Can you say it's the future? Would you like it to be?

was it ever good for gaming? I am not trying to troll but I can only think of casual games that were ok at best.

My beef is that you can only play a few games with kinect. How is it better than a controller that I can play a variety of games with? I think it plays good for somethin like Dancing and RTS but the Wii did a lot better IMO. Motiont tech in general has along way to go there's no tellin how long it might take for 100% accuracy.

As it is, it's too limited to be "the future". This is more of a proof of concept device. It proves that decent games can be made using this kind of technology. With further enhancements it could be a great addition to complement physical controls.

Like people have pointed out- it has potential. There is a market for it, and there are genres that can only be played with kinect( or motion technology in general).

I think will never be good for gaming besides some movement minigames. The problem is no controller. How are you supposed to play games by waving your hand. Doesn't matter how advanced Kinect is, motion controls will never be as great as a controller.

I still play Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Fruit Ninja, GunStringer & Haunt with it. My daughter plays Kinectimals. Haven't picked up the Sesame Street game yet. I play it more then I play my MOVE that's for sure. I still haven't tried Sorcery yet and that was the main reason I got the MOVE. lol!! The people who think Kinect is garbage, but think the MOVE is garbage pureed. lol!! The MOVE doesn't even get any new games.

Kinect combined with normal controls might work for some games but as a standalone it's a POS. My nephew (4) loves it, seems like it's more aimed at kids anyway. He can't use the gampad properly yet, but he can wiggle his arms like a maniac, so thats much more fun for him. But let's face it, all, YES ALL(!) kinect games are utter crap, maybe fun when you are drunk with a bunch of people, but nothing you'd play when you are alone. It has potential but I don't see it getting used in any good way. Let's see what MS will do with it in the future..

Right now, no, not really. I will admit that I've found it to be casual fun. If was implemented correctly? Maybe.

Suppose games like Dance Central aren't really possible without it. And it can handle simple concepts as long as it's not too many at once. So it can work for family/kids/casual/party/minigame games. But in general I think the technology is good for software that's not on the 360 and applications that are not technically games. Just realized I haven't bought a single Kinect game. Or wait, I did get the first Double Fine thing.

The Kinect 2 will be able to recognize finger movement and 4 players at the same time. The voice recognition and response time will also be significantly improved. It'll have some huge leaps over the original Kinect. Don't expect it to die anytime soon.
