He's got to go. The guy is untrustworthy, he's the type of guy to piss on your back and tell you it's raining.

My only real gripe with the guy is that the 1st party still isn't great.

The first party isn't as good as Nintendo's right now, but it's better than the PS first party as of late.

Also, they made all these announcements like Fable and Perfect Dark a while ago and they're still in development.

That's a good thing. We don't want those games until they are ready.

It also seems that Xbox is trying to get rid of disc trays with the new XSX refresh which also sucks.

It does suck that Sony and MS are looking at possibly doing that. Hopefully they change their mind.

I say he should stay. He’s doing Sony a favor with All the poor xbox sales numbers and stagnant growth of GP, and we can’t forget about the AAA flops like Starfield and Redfall that has released under his watch .

I want him to stay because being Microsoft he's probably the best case scenario for the position. He's carefully balancing the traditional gaming market with a growth strategy that aligns with a company of such size, can't say he's been amazing but I won't pretend it's an easy job.

I might be wrong but the idea that some hardcore gamer is going head Xbox and Microsoft into a glorious first place of a tiny slice of market just isn't realistic for a trillion dollar corporation. Phil might be as close as we get.

I like where he has taken xbox. Yes, they could pump games out faster, but they are making aquisitions to bolster their catalogue of games. Game Pass is an amazing deal. I also love buying a game on xbox and the pc version is there and can share save files. I wish Sony would adopt the play anywhere model between PS and PC.

He's done one good thing in putting games on PC.

I vote to keep him in. He’s a pretty cool guy and an actual gamer. I think he’s been doing a pretty good job and would like to see him continue.

It's hard to say. He's made the brand so much better but, as they say, "The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing."

And the main thing here is games. Even he recognizes that they've down a poor job of managing their games. And the buck stops w/ him. Could Xbox do better than Phil? I dunno. The guy has a real passion for the industry, but on the other hand the main measuring stick shows him underperforming.

Phil is doing a fine job. Dom Mattrick on the other hand...

I don't find him to be likeable, but I don't see any reason to remove him.

He and Jim Ryan, etc. are just suits, regardless of whether they dress in jeans and leather jackets or not. Other people make the games. Other people design the hardware. Other people propose changes or improvements to the business model.

They just give financial boundaries and approve, or not, other people's ideas. Even then, the financial boundaries are given by the CEO/CFO/Board and the ROI, ROE, DCF...etc. models are produced by junior people, who are easily thrown under the bus.

This is true of all large business, where real hands on leaders that bring their own insights to the forefront are few and far between. And I don't see that in either Phil or Jim. Simply being on stage doesn't mean anything.

Therefore, I don't care one way or the other...unless you can name a potential successor that isn't just another suit.

The good news for you as the reader is this: none of these people are better or smarter than you.

I do think that they don't have as much power as people would think.

Game Pass. I can play the upcoming Persona 3 Reloaded for $11 while PlayStation fans have to pay $70 to play it on day one. That's just a single example of what Phil did for gamers.

I honestly don't give a shit. It's sort of a win-win at this point; someone bad comes in, they ruin a brand and a corporation fails and possibly we get something better taking its place. They bring someone good, and an OK thing get's better. They stick with Phil, I keep enjoying Game Pass.

Making one digital only and soon a new X that is digital only too, thus shutting out gamers who own physical media like myself, and yet Phil says he's big on backwards compatibility lol.

Buying 2 devs who's games were coming to Xbox anyway is not so much a plus for Xbox gamers.

Third party games coming to GP ok, well they should, I mean it's a rental store so that should be the norm.

hes amazing and has great vision. One thing I disagree with him on is the support for gaming unions. Really, theres no good thing that comes with this. I am all for people getting good pay, and benefits, vacation time, parental benefits, work from home days etc. But unions are terrible, they turn people into lazy pos who just get away with doing the bare minimum.

His support for unions is a turn off, and honestly I don't like that hes not crushing their organizing efforts. This is not something I want on team #xbox. But if sony was doing it, i'd frankly be extatic, jumping with joy.

If not for the AB acquisition and having to look good in front of the regulators, they might not have been so lenient. Very shameful to be honest, and one of the drawbacks of mergers.
