I prefer Western games, especially in terms of rpg's. Japanese games are for the most part just too weird. One of the only Japanese games I actually liked was RE4 and I am really looking forward to RE5.
No real preference but I tend to enjoy Japanese games more since a good one is hard to come by these days. Not every game coming from the East is the next Okami or P3 but the majority of Western games I play have the same mechanics just with different storylines and characters.

Agreed. The last Japan-developed game I bought was Persona3:FES, and even that clings close to tired JRPG conventions.
Yeah. I played FES and while I liked it, I was really annoyed at how repetitive the game got. Japanese games have a certain charm to them, there's no denying that, but the gameplay of a lot of games seems stuck in the PS1 days.This is true to a certain extent of the industry as a whole though. I think that the Europeans and other western developers are taking more risks in the RPG arena. Although I must say do do like Lost Odyessy quite a bit so far.

If it is a good game, it is a good game. I do not care where its from nor have I ever preferred one game to another because it was developed in Japan or a Western area.

For me easily westerm. There has been a few japanese titles that I have liked including the FF series. But when it comes to FPS, RTS, and yes even RPG games, I prefer my oblivions and witchers over there japanese counter parts.
