Both games seems to have somewhat similiar parkour gameplay, which one you prefer more? Started Dying Light recently, its more awesome and replayable ( NG + or chapter select ) over Mirrors Edge ... imo.
wbu guys? :)
I've only played Mirror's Edge but I love that game.
EA better make a worthy sequel or I'll fucking mail them my left nut.
I have 45 hours into Dying Light and about 2 hours into Mirrors Edge so..................
You're almost done with Mirrors Edge then lol.
I haven't played Dying light yet and plan to pick it up later this year. Mirror's edge on other hand was day one for me and I was excited to play that game since I saw its trailer. So, I'll go with Mirror's Edge... for now.
Only played Mirror's Edge, and while short is very memorable. One of the gameplay experiences I commend it for is the option to play through the entire game without shooting a single enemy, which I did get the achievement for. And in that vein, the combat mechanic of disarming the security officers was really satisfying.
Im having way more fun with Dying Light than I ever did with Mirror's Edge. It might be too long though. Im about 20 hours in and Im still in the first area and feeling I might get burnt out soon
Just wait, isn't mirror edges 2 coming soon?
Meh, I didn't think Mirrors Edge was all that good. It was a below average game that looked nice. Thats about it.
They may both have parkour elements but their two totally different games. I like Dying LIght more myself, they're simply more game there.
Mirror's edge by far since I finished the game 3 times and I never played, or cared about, dying light.
I never completed mirror's edge, but I enjoyed it. I'm having a blast with Dying Light, also because I like zombies.
Before Mirror's Edge, I played "Breakdown" on OG Xbox, so I was already accustomed to the perma-1st person (yea I I just made that word up :P) type of view. Mirror's Edge added more parkour to the mix.
I liked Mirror's Edge better. The feeling of momentum you got in that game just isn't present in Dying Light. In terms of parkour, I'd say that Mirror's Edge is the clear winner. I also enjoyed Mirror's Edge as a game far more than Dying Light. However, I'm definitely in the minority though because I really don't like Dying Light very much at all. I've been having to force myself to play it but I don't think I can do it anymore. I'm completely over zombie games now and I just find it so very repetitive. Although the same could be said for Mirror's Edge, I feel like all you do in Dying Light is try to get from Point A to Point B in every single mission and that's just not fun to me. But hey, I also think that Assassin's Creed Unity is amazing and one of my favorite games of 2014 and most people don't like it, so what do I know.

are you 2 twins? your posts reek of 14 year old filth.
also, TC do you prefer apples or oranges?
mirrors edge. Sure i like both games and i did play ( and still playing ) dying light 25hours as opposed to 7-8hours on mirrors edge but i just love mirrors edge more. Part of that is the likeable protagonist, part of that is the amazing parkour mechanics ( with nothing even coming close to replicate that ), part of that was the awesome music and finally the great level design . Sure it could have gone without any shooting mechanics ( which are dreadful ) but other than that the game was excellent and i didnt mind the rather short length which i found about right for a game of its kind ( and considering the price tag was 10euros less at release compared to other games )
I haven't played Dying Light, but Mirror's Edge is one of my GOAT's, so no matter how good DL might be, it'll likely be unable to surpass it.
And ME focuses on running, DL focuses on killing zombies.
Dying Light.
While I think Mirror's Edge's parkour was a bit more polished and in-depth (horizontal wall running), Dying Light did it in an open world construct. Part of the enjoyment of parkour is being able to determine your own lines of traversal. While Mirror's Edge was cool, it was an exercise in trial and error whose linear structure ultimately worked to defeat the very thing that the entire premise was based upon and that makes it so fun. Mirror's Edge 2 is supposed to be open-world, so we'll see how that pans out when it hits, but for now Dying Light is the better parkour experience because it's already done it, with very competent execution.
Mirrors Edge was a great game for its time, im looking forward to seeing how the sequel turns out. I didnt really enjoy Dying Light that much but I recon that was mainly due to performance issues at the start and playing the game in COOP ruined the immersion a bit for me. I might give it another go in single player so that I can play it at my leisure.
Never played Dying Light but it looks a lot more open world than Mirror's Edge. I don't mind linear level design but having more freedom while doing parkour seems better in my view. I like Mirror's Edge atmosphere more tho.
Haven't played either. I'm sure Mirror's Edge is great and is better at what it does than Dying Light, but Dying Light seems to have more to do and is a longer experience (in a good way).
I loved Mirror's Edge. I love parkour in games.
I'm sure I'll love Dying Light too, when I get around to buying it.

Sounds like that'll hurt you more than it hurts them :/
