I'm pretty new to this genre, but I am currently playing Danganronpa (chapter 3), and am really enjoying it. Looking forward to Danganronpa 2 and Steins; Gate. All on my Vita, of course (best platform for these types of games imo). I'm sure there are others I need to look into. What about you, SW? Are you into visual novels?
I enjoyed some of the old Sierra games, which I'd fit in this genre. No doubt these need to be played on pc, though Sega Saturn had a few decent ones, I think.
If you said no, then CLEARLY you have never played ANY Ace Attorney Game, Professor Layton Game, or Either of the 2 Zero Escape games.
I have played Layton, but I consider that a puzzle/adventure game. But if the requirement for a VN is not being able to move around freely in the game, then sure, I like some.

Layton to me is a Visual Novel series. You don't have to do all the puzzles in the game, just the major ones. At any point in those games you can back out of a puzzle and go back to it at a library or some place that allows you to do the puzzles again.
Besides in order for you to get the most out of every Layton game you must have "Basic reading Ability to FULLY enjoy the game" (I read that on the box lol) Which is what you need for Visual Novel games.

You think Vita's the best platform for VNs, you clearly haven't played much on DS. Hotel Dusk, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Ghost Trick, and of course, 999.
Since you have a Vita and will play anything on it, I do suggest hunting down Virtue's Last Reward when you can. Unfortunately, playing VLR requires you to have played 999 first, but it's absolutely worth it, 999 tells an amazing story.
To answer your question: yes, yes I do. All the ones mentioned above (sans VLR, which I'll get around to eventually) plus Danganronpa (the first one) and P4G.
@charizard1605: I never had a DS, 3DS only. As mentioned in the OP, I am new to the genre and enjoy playing it most on my Vita. The hardware is perfect for it. Vita's beautiful screen, great audio, touch controls that are smooth and responsive. I like danganronpa , it's great when you're in the mood for a wacky story like that. The game also reminds me of persona 4 golden in some ways. I don't know how much time I will have for these types of games, I'm on chapter 3 and I got the game back in September I think lol. Lately I've been getting a kick out of it. Definitely want to play the sequel

No, point and click adventure games are cool when there is some genuine gameplay to it. A game that is predominantly story based like visual novels, and goes out of its way to make the gameplay almost non-existent or as a tertiary element of the experience, sucks. Because it sucks at the things that define this medium. It's not an argument or an example of a video game with good story telling, if anything it's a blatant example of why a video game can't tell a story as effectively.
That said I thoroughly enjoy the plots of 999/VLR enough to watch them shits, but play games like dangonronpa and the like? No thank you, I'd rather actually play an interactive experience that gets the interactive elements right, even if it's telling me the plot line of Bad Boys 2.
Love me some Ace Attorney. I don't really have anything against it as a genre/mode, but it's really hard to find good ones when I find most anime-inspired VNs obnoxious, pretentious, overly dramatic, and overall little of value (like F/SN).

While it has extra gameplay elements in it I still consider Hotel Dusk Room 215 to be a visual novel and it's my favorite American one.
My other favorite Japanese visual novel is YU-NO which is almost 20 years old but pioneered a lot of the ideas used in visual novels that came after it.
They are actually doing a remake of YU-NO for consoles which has me excited since I found it to be the best visual novel I ever played despite some of it's glaring flaws.
It was probably the first game to do the mix of parallel world and time travel (Chrono Trigger is not the same) even before Xenogears and I don't think a game has done a better approach to the topic since.
I liked the game so much that when I found out no one else recorded a playthrough in English that I had to upload my 83 hour 100% walkthrough onto youtube.
Don't judge the game by it's blatant eye candy, under that hard shell is a great story with outstanding voice acting and wonderfully atmospheric music.
The remake will definitely tone down the sexual content.
If you are talking about Point and Click adventures, then hell yeah. I love Broken Sword series and waiting for full release of The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, coming next month. I play Telltale games from time to time but their games become too boring for me because there is no puzzle solving. Instead it's just cutscene after cutscene.

Ace Attorney is an adventure game.
Most of the detective parts are just straight up VN, but yeah, it's more of an adventure game, which is probably why I love it so much.

Besides Steins Gate, which you should definitely try out, here are more visual novels you might want to check out:
