Do you feel Crysis games are worth buying as a benchmark

So I was just watching a video on the Titan X and they guy said that when whoever at Gamespot played Crysis 3 it didn't do a respectful job....at least not for $1000.

My question is though...I have Crysis....Crysis Warhead...and Crysis 2.....and I'm done with that series.

Even though Crysis 3 might be the best looking game in creation right now....as the part of me thats a PC gamer...I feel nothing towards that series.

I tried to finish Crysis 2 about a week ago....and it's just painful. The game's alien enemies are like watching cartoon muppets running around....and it's just bad all around.

I think they create those games just for the sake of being the most advanced and I don't buy into it anymore.

If you want a benchmark then get benchmarking software or download the free Unreal Engine 4 and its tech demos.

That seems to be their only purpose anymore

Crysis 3 is a good benchmarking tool. However if you want to play a good game then get first Crysis or Warhead.

Maybe if they're dirt cheap.

Crysis 1 is an awesome game even today.

Crysis 3 is lot's better than 2. It mixes the sandbox elements of the first, along with the scripted crap of the second. I'd buy it for cheap if you haven't played it.

And yes...I have all the Crysis games, and they are mostly benchmarks. However, 1/3 were a lot of fun for me (2 was tiny, and horrible...3 is vastly improved) and I had a great time tweaking/pushing my hardware.

Same here. Game wise Crysis 1 and warhead are great and yes 2 was horrible but i also found 3 to be a good game ( certainly worth $10-15 ) as it feels more open than 2 ( still no where close to 1 and warhead )

Crysis 1 and Crysis warhead should be played because they are great games.

Crysis 2 and 3 are only good for benchmarking if that :/

Ah, I really like Crysis 3. I Like 2 and 3 for different reasons to 1. But I thought 3 was really enjoyable. I like them all.

As for benchmarking, I haven't got a clue.

I don't know why Crysis 3 is getting so much flak. I enjoyed it pretty much. For me, Crysis 3 was better than 2, but both are much less than Crysis 1 and Warhead.

Same, I like 3 better than 2. But I don't compare them to 1. 2 and 3 and like Halo versions of Crysis. They're very different to me.

Seems several ppl think 3 is not that bad...I might have it try it out when it's dirt cheap on Origin.

1 was a fun game but cloaking broke it. I would go around cloaked 90% of the time...and I never really used any other suit power.

The first game was designed to push PC hardware to its limit back in the day, its a game built around a benchmark untily. The second in the series, they tried actually make into a game which failed. Not played the 3rd game.

You should just replay Crysis and Crysis Warhead since those games actually play extremely well. Otherwise **** the sequels.

Oh absolutely, I still use them to benchmark even my new GPU's (two 290X's).
