Do you usually play the single player campaigns of popular competitive multiplayer shooters like MW, Battlefield, Halo series? or you skip them and just enjoy the multiplayer?

Also, would you prefer to sacrifice the SP campaigns in competitive shooters if that would lead to reduce the overall price of those games?

Well yes, Counterstrike, Insurgency, TF2 (although f2p), etc. tons of games on PC don't have SP campaigns.

EDIT: Derp.

IMO it needs something. Even if it's just like the Unreal Tournament or Quake 3 Arena single player.

Sometimes...yes, but lately I haven't really cared.

I used to play the Campaign before I jump into Multiplayer, but for Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 2, and Battlefield 3, I just never cared for the Campaigns.

Heck I still haven't beat the Bad Company 2 campaign.

I Always play the Halo campaigns. I always played the BF: Bad Co. Campaigns but have always skipped the regular BF campaigns.

I made an attempt on BF 4 but that wonderful finished game wiped my save. Never went back.

The single player is what I look forward to the most. Because the campaigns are rather short, a lot of budget goes into ~6 hours of gameplay. This means the voice acting, actions scenes etc. are top notch. It makes for a very enjoyable and well told story. I know most people jump straight into MP though, even though a lot of work is put into the SP. To each their own I guess. This goes most for cod.

Yeah - at the very least it's a flashy tutorial to help get you acclimated.

I usually play through them a couple times at least, especially those God of Duty campaigns.

Sorry, I misunderstood (or misread) the title. Thought this was about games that didn't have SP.

Typically, I'll play the SP first and go in to multiplayer. The SP is good for getting a feel for the game.

Yes. I generally only play the multiplayer until I've seen ever map, so I actually spend more time on the single player.

Usually yes I will play the single player. I actually really enjoyed BF4s campaign, though shame i can't say the same about CoD Ghosts...

I would rather they included sp still, I'm not a fan of multi player only titles

When I can find the games for less than $10, I buy them just to play the SP campaign. They are great, much better than the multiplayer that gets tacked on. They are just way too short for me to justify paying much.

I generally skip the multiplayer, actually. I play the single player, and if I enjoy it I dabble in the multiplayer. Sometimes I enjoy the multiplayer as much if not more that the single player, as was the case with the Killzone games, but generally, I don't like competitive multiplayer too much. I'm a single player and co-op guy, really.

I love single player romps. I love going through CoDs and Battlefields and even the MoH games just mowing down enemies. I can turn my brain off, not get too excited over the game, not be too competitive, and thus just enjoy myself.

I've replayed the CoD Modern Warfare series probably 3-5 times. I have no regrets. I love me some casual shooting action.

I also play much more competitive stuff like Insurgency, Red Orchestra 2, Planetside 2, Battlefield 4's multiplayer, and some CS GO from time to time.

I play through the SP campaign as many times as I want, while completely ignoring the online MP aspect of games, as they bore me to tears.

Oh yeah. Halo is mostly for SP for me. I enjoyed the MP and Firefight in particular but its the SP that I buy it for. COD I don't buy new and usually borrow for a once through the campaign. Others it depends. Titanfall I have really enjoyed and based on beta I will enjoy Destiny.

Always, and always first. I'm usually not expecting much, but I like my single player experiences.

Yeah, I do, but CoD and Battlefield have really bad campaigns. I wouldn't care if they weren't there.

Religiously, though I don't frequent the genre much anymore. It's actually more likely I've played the SP of a recent FPS than the MP.

Usually moreso than the MP, I've always been more of a PvE type of gamer in most all genres of games. NOw co-op PvE ala ME3's MP mode? Gravy.

I literally may never enter the Crucible in Destiny.
