Poll Deus Ex vs Mass effect series. Which is better? (51 votes)

Deus Ex 35%
Mass Effect 65%

W Hello friends,

So both are Shooter RPG hybrids but different in prespective as one is third person and other is first person. which series you prefer out of 2?

Deus Ex

No Caption Provided

Mass Effect

No Caption Provided

For me Its easily Deus Ex as original Deus Ex not only revolutionize gaming but change the shape of gaming as a result 20 years later we are getting a game that is inspired by Deus Ex ie Cyberpunk.

Deus Ex 1 is still best game ever but Deus Ex 2 was most dumbed down sequel ever made (yes its even worse than Crysis 2, FEAR2 etc) as it become on of the worst game. it was dumbed down for xbox that is even explain by warren spector himself call it a mistake. only game in history where even creator disliked it.

then enter Human revolution prequel. become masterpiece once again by new developers and capture the spirit of original then become mediocre again with its sequel because it was cut into half.

Mass effect 2 i played for half n hour and i quit it. boring third person cover shooter with dialogue system. its RPG without inventory lol. one of the worst game i have ever played. and then we all know how badly recieve mass effect 3 and andromeda were.

so my friends lets vote and discuss which is better of 2 franchsie?

Definitely Mass Effect for me. I absolutely loved the story and the lore especially in the first game. Everything in the first game was so mysterious and foreboding. The Reapers were awe inspiring and something that felt beyond human comprehension. The first encounter with I believe Sovereign literally gave me goosebumps. Saren was also a fantastic antagonist.

Both are kinda finished now if I'm not wrong. They both ended on disappointing notes. At this stage I'm kinda over them anyways.

It's hard to say which was better. I guess the strong point in the Deus Ex series was the first one and the for the mass effect series it was me2 and arguably me3 that shone.

Even though I loved the latest Deus Ex games, have to go with Mass Effect (excluding Andromeda).

I go with Mass Effect as well. Andromeda is actually a pretty good game on PC after the patches. Obviously not as good as the original trilogy, but it has good gameplay, presentation, and a decent story. Overall, still a good game.

Mass Effect for me easy. I love the story/characters/universe in 1 and 2. 3 and Andromeda were disappointing in those regards but were still plenty of fun to play.

I've only played the last two Deus Ex games and tbh I suck at them. Also ... the limit on stealth takedowns in Human Revolution was really stupid imo (can't remember if they removed it in MD)

If we talk series, it's easily Mass Effect trilogy. Excluding Andromeda and last 10min of Mass Effect 3 it's just an amazing world full of amazing characters you forme connections with.

Something I didn't do in Deus Ex even tho I enjoyed playing it.

LOL casuals want unlimited takedown ie press f to kill.

this is what gave it challenge and immersive.

Mass effect 2 is gears of war clone.

I couldn't disagree more. EVERYTHING felt meaningless in that game. Its literally AssCreed in space with two shitty allies that follow you everywhere. Just remembering the actual gameplay of that game makes me want to 🤢

Holy shit it was a bad game.

Deus Ex has the better highlights. The First game of DE vs the first Mass Effect is no contest.

However I do think ME was slightly more consistent right up to that dogshit last game where it fell off a cliff.

@hardwenzen: It played better than the others though in terms of movement, shooting, powers, etc.. The core mechanics were good. However, the others had stronger writing, characters, and overall design.

Yes, but that's because they CoD'ified it. Gone are the strategies of combo'ing powers with your team members. Gunplay did not feel better nor worse than ME3. The jetpack added nothing to the game. You had more mobility, but it felt so floaty it was like playing a Bethesda game and their 1989 animations. Andromeda was a shitshow EVEN when compared to the ending of ME3.

@hardwenzen: I think you are taking it to the extreme. Also, the AssCreed series is not bad overall. There are just too many of them and they don't change it up enough. Some entries are noticeably weaker than others, but there are some solid games in the series.

Waiting a couple minutes before you have enough juice to sneak up to somebody and take them out is immersive?

It's needlessly tedious. You don't see that in Splinter Cell or any other stealth games I can think of.

I refuse to choose. I Love both.

But Deus Ex has the nostalgia factor for me, and the newer games are pretty damn great as well. I pretend Invisible War doesn't exist for the sake of the franchise.

I play Deus Ex about twice a year to this day every since I first got it way back in like 2001 or whatever.

Mass Effect 1-3 I still play once in a long while, but frankly ME1 and ME2 gameplay has aged very, very poorly imo. Deus Ex gameplay is as fun as it was from day one, though not everyone likes it. The new Deus Ex games also have great gameplay.

TL;DR: it's a tough choice, but if you put a gun to my head I'd say Deus Ex is my game of choice. Hell, it's probably my favorite game ever.

You speak the truth.

Modern game developers could learn a thing or two. Hell, I am sure they all know about Deus Ex. Publishers just won't let them go in that direction. Nope, needs to be a clone of something trendy, not something great. Battle royale, open-world action, etc..

That's a tough one. Deus EX (2000) is one of the greatest games of all time. Every other Deus Ex is mediocre.

Mass Effect 2 (2010) is one of the best RPGs ever made. Every other Mass Effect game is mediocre.

I only played the modern Deus Ex games and I loved them. But I also loved Mass Effect (Andromeda not as much...). It's very tough to choose between two of my favorite franchises but I'm going with Mass Effect simply because of the amazing universe and lore.

I love Human Revolution ... but Mass Effect for me was so special in so many ways ... the story, the lore, the characters, the music ... i even loved Mass Effect 3 ending (yeah, yeah, color ending ... whatever) ... sad to see Andromeda and Manking Divided failing to live up to their respective franchises.

I am really not over exaggerating. I fund this game to abysmal. Forced myself to play it through and do a bunch of side stuff just because i like Mass Effect and i've waited 5 years for a sequel, knowing its that or no ME at all. Worst AAA experience of this gen for me. I'm sure that even vanilla F76 has a better actual gameplay/exploration than "fixed" Andromeda.

I really like the original Mass Effect Trilogy overall for the epic space opera story.

Deux Ex game play is way more fun tho so that's what I am voting for.

Human Revolution was a fantastic game.

Really hard to choose for me as I love both series. The first games in both series were both amazing to me. Mass Effect has better characters which are more fleshed out and an fantastic story. Whereas Deus Ex series has deeper mechanics and you replay with multiple playstyles. Mass Effect Andromeda was super lame though.

Deus ex broke so many new ground that it's very hard to top it, but mass effect surely did that. Mass effect 1 is one of those few games that surpassed anything and everything, a bit like resident evil 4, and the first halflife.

Yeah....Mass Effect for me. Tried the Deux Ex games. Decent, but I still like Mass Effect more. Particularly Mass Effect 2 & 3. Love the 1st Mass Effect but it's definitely.....dated. The long treks on foot and planet exploration in that tank (although I liked the general idea behind it) made the game much more longer and tedious than it needed to be....

Mass Effect. I never liked Dues Ex HR. I tried so many times to enjoy it, but I just found it boring each time so I moved on. Maybe I didn't play long enough to get engaged, but it shouldn't take long for me to begin my enjoyment.

Enjoyed Mass Effect 1, despite all characters looking like the stuff of nightmares and the gameplay being wonky. I was more forgiving back then. Didn't enjoy ME2, and so I didn't play ME3.

Enjoyed Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Didn't enjoy Mankind Divided. I'm sorry to say I haven't played the first Deus Ex.

I give the edge to Deus Ex.

Nah, if you didn't enjoy the beginning of HR, say the first 3-5 hours, not worth it to continue. I don't blame you, Adam Jensen was the epitome of cringe.

Eh' smokes cigarettes and wears shades against a tragic backstory, but he doesn't cry like futuristic cuck, represses it emotionally and causes other families to lose loved ones, a real man.

Incredibly creative.
