Resolution this resolution that.
We are gamers not Pixel counters if you like the look of a game then who gives a f*** about what anyone else thinks.
Personally i have yet to see a game that tops Witcher 3 for Graphics and it has nothing to do with resolution the Art style is perfect in my opinion and the way the environment reacts to differing strengths of wind and other Weather factors is amazing.
you can prattle on about which games are Technically better all day long but the truth is that 'best looking game' is always going to be a subjective opinion Because it's based on our own personal preferences and is not based on resolution alone.
I Have my Xbox one set at 720 output because my old 19" TV is not capable of 1080p yet the games look a ton better than they do on the 360,incuding Battlefront (one of the best looking games i have seen) even though it's 720p native on the Xbone, which just says to me that not only is resolution not the deciding factor in a games visual appeal but it's actually quite low down the list.
It's just people looking for any trivial reason they can to claim there piece of plastic is superior to another piece of plastic when ultimately in the real world, nobody really gives a shit.
I game with pixels. If i don't like the look of the pixels myswell be playing on a atari 2600.
I game on new stuff for the higher resolution. If I want low resolution and block graphics i'll go back to my old consoles.
I'm gamer who takes everything into account PS4 is good main for 1080p tv gaming, PC is a great man for higher resolution high graphical fidelity, the xb1 is not a main console its competing with ps4 on that front and losing in that department.
The xb1 is side dish like macaroni and cheese, the ps4 is main dish and the PC is all you can buffet you don't need anything else dish.
resolution / frames matter places like digital foundry and youtube are talking about twitch is talking about resolution I trust those areas and those people they are regular people. people like me ign gamespot talks about the resolution forums talk about it. Thats where im at on this issue.
I don't give a F*** about the Technical side quite honestly if i like a game i will play it end of.
'If I want low resolution and block graphics i'll go back to my old consoles.'
Yet a game with block graphics is killing most top end graphics games in sales with over 70 million copies sold already Because it's just totally fun.

I don't generally run with the Herd, i go my own way.
also, you trust digital foundry?
you would be surprised to know then that DF are not convinced that resolution really matters that much
'Nielsen polling data says it does, but Digital Foundry isn't totally convinced.'
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-does-resolution-really-matter.
they see it as a way of quantifying power between consoles not a benchmark for whats better looking.
'our take on it is that resolution became a way of quantifying the technological capabilities of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - a relatable metric, if you like. We're not sure if 'console A is more powerful than console B' was one of Nielsen's 30 reasons, but resolution is a parameter by which the differing power levels of the machines can be addressed, and was certainly the way the specialist press - ourselves included - went about it.'
which has nothing to do with actually playing the games themselves or which games are 'better looking' it's a way of judging the hardware NOT the games.
but i digress i have been playing games since 1985 and i still play Zx spectrum and commodore 64 games from that Era and a lot of my most favorite recent games are Pixel games and isometric games like Sworcery, Fist of awesome and the Deer god.
i feel sorry for people who are so hung up on Graphics and resolution that they feel they cannot go back and Play the games they used to enjoy or enjoy current games that just happen to have old style graphics.
and i would love to get my hands on an Atari 2600 and play some of those game again
