Some of you guys couldn't probably care less, but i'm sure many would love it. I only play racing games in cockpit view, even Watch Dogs, and with the superior driving and physics in GTAV, this would be huge!

Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One and PC)

The interiors are very detailed for an open world game, and the speedometer actually works :p

Let the speculation begin!!!

That's probably just a cutscene, nothing more.

It is a nice perspective, but I don't think I'm going to re-purchase GTA 5 again. I thought the game was a bit overrated, not the open world experience I was hoping for. Watch Dogs and Infamous Second Son are far better than GTA 5 IMO.

Driving in that angle would be amazing. That camera angle makes Watch Dogs enjoyable for me, even with its terrible driving gameplay and physics.

A cockpit view was shown in the character trailers for GTA V yet it didn't make it into the game, this is just a developer placing a camera inside a vehicle for the purposes of making a trailer.

Well, cutscene or not, the PC version will have a mod for that. :P

I doubt the vanilla game will have that but now that´s gonna be on the PC it won´t take long until cockpits are available for the PC version, just like with GTA IV.

When did the inside of a car become a 'cockpit'?

Woudln't it be better to call it the dash view?

Yeah, i remember that, but it will happen to this kind of games eventually.

Of course it may just be a cutscene, but with the extra year and resources, It could perfectly be there.

Notice that in the next gen trailer in the scene depicted above, the tachometer is moving up as M revs the engine. Not sure if this happens in last gen GTA V, but it seems that if the devs put the time adding this little touch, dash cam is a no-brainer. Here's hoping, as this would enhance gameplay tremendously for racing fans such as myself. Driving becomes much more accurate and fun in this view IMO. C'mon with it R* !

Good if done properly, Driver was good with it. Watch_Dogs was a rushed afterthought the instrument panel does not even work.

I haven't played Infamous, but GTA V is 100 times the open world experience Watch Dogs is. They're not even in the same league and I say this as someone who still liked Watch Dogs, but the world is so shallow compared to GTA V.

This has never been in any of the GTA games, so I doubt Rockstar will do it this time. Plus the PC version will receive all kinds of mods. In my opinion, I think the cockpit view is useless, I always use a third-person cam even for racing games.

I play all the racing games on that view, even Watch Dogs, which have a poor implementation of it! Options are good to please everybody.

True. It would be good for people that enjoy playing in that view.

Didn't GTAIV have it? Or was that just a bumber cam I'm remembering? Either way the view would be fun for just cruising around and obeying the traffic laws (and maybe some weapons and traffic free races), but when shit hits the fan it will be useless. You need to see what's all around the car and how it is reacting to your steering inputs in order to play the game.
