It's actually a really good offering this month across both systems. I'd pick up Excitebike and Star Fox 64, but I already have the 3DS remakes. On the other hand, Puzzle League and Mario Golf both look tempting (especially since Mario Golf is the good one with the RPG mode).

Can't remember the last time I got coins. I'd like to have Super Mario Bros. 2 and I think I'd rather just get the WiiWare version of Excitebike.

@93BlackHawk93: but oddly fun. it's terrible mechanics leads the player to want to get better (or quit lol)

Nothing for me again, this month.... Can we get some of these Wii VC games on the Wii U eshop?

I guess if you have some N64 nostalgia, StarFox and Mario Golf would be fun

The 3DS version is beautiful. That framerate improvement really helps for a game like this, to be honest.

In short: NOTHING

Those are not even games. Those are not even worth 0.1 cent. Those are already free games on internet(no need to download, webpage).

This proves Wii U has no games

I should probably pick up Super Mario Bros 2... I'm just worried that as soon as I start spending those coins I've been saving they'll actually release something worthwhile as the rewards. Still have that Platinum reward to claim too but there's nothing there that I want or don't already have.

The Wii U always gets good games while the 3DS selection always suck balls. That 3DS selection is bad IMO. Why can't they offer like Wario Land or Six Golden Coins? It's always some BS list.

I'm getting close to just giving the code away. I'd love to do a trade with someone for like a code for Shovel Knight or some PSN credit or something, but it's getting to the point where I redeem the code and get something for someone else or accidentally let it expire which is dumb of me to do.

So the answer is possibry. Here's the list of games you could choose from if anyone was interested in trading :P If no one else speaks up I'll probably just send whatever game you want your way.

Platinum
Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, 3DS
Dillon's Rolling Western, 3DS
Fluidity: Spin Cycle, 3DS
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, 3DS
Dr. Luigi, Wii U
EarthBound, Wii U
NES Remix, Wii U
Game & Wario, Wii U

Gold
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, 3DS
Metroid, 3DS
Wario Land 2, 3DS
Donkey Kong 3, 3DS
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Wii U
Super Mario Bros., Wii U
Kid Icarus, Wii U
Ice Climber, Wii U

I'm experiencing Deja Vu. A thousand pardons for my following query, but I fear I must ask...

Didn't you say you don't get codes from users in a previous conversation regarding Nintendo Codes?

----

I recall you said, "I somehow always have in excess of 2000 coins in my account, so I am sure some how or the other, it's cheaper :P"

Then I said, "Yeah, but you get codes from friends that buy Nintendo games and don't use Club Nintendo though..."

and you said, "Incorrect, I do not get any codes from anybody: all my codes are my own. Please do not make unfounded, obviously incorrect, presumptions."

---

Just to clear the air, the only reason I said you got codes from friends in the first place way back then is I remembered a similar situation like today. I just remembered you asked for codes or a code or something and you got hooked up and you said thanks in a public setting. Someone didn't want the code or whatever. It happens a lot with other users I've seen, but it's not a big deal. I didn't bring that up then when you denied it ever happened, I just dropped the subject as I didn't feel it was worth arguing about. However, I'm reminded of the getting Nintendo Codes again today, probably since you said it was a incorrect presumption on my part.

The situation was sort of like above in this thread where you asked for Nintendo Codes above from Zassimick. It's not a big deal, but you denied "getting codes from anyone" and that "all your codes are your own", so it struck me curious when I just read the thread today.

@SolidTy: Three things:

a) I said I never ask for Club Nintendo codes (used to get coins). This is not asking for a Club Nintendo code, this is asking for a download code. I.e. a reward.

b) Regardless, this would be my first time actually asking for one (since I already redeemed Donkey Kong myself earlier, and then gave it away to my younger brother, but I do want to play the game, and I have less qualms asking about it now that I redeemed my own code for that exact game)

c) I am very flattered that you remembered something so throwaway. Really, it's so nice of you to remember something like this regarding one of our numerous conversations that we have had over the years. It makes me feel very nice and important really.

But yes, as mentioned above, you are conflating CN codes with reward codes. I made a claim regarding the former, never the latter. And most importantly, this would be my first time, and under very special circumstances anyway, so yes, my initial statement was true, and I continue to stand by it.

Awwwww, this again? From you Darkyspinez? Bummer duders! :( I guess I shouldn't remember as much as I do? It's not like I remembered a conversation he had with you and I brought it up. I don't think I would have remembered that, but this was a convo involving yours truly (It wasn't even a year ago, Nov 2013). That's stayed in the ol' noggin. I had a convo with charizard, Mr. Spines Layer, so it stuck around in there. That's why I remembered it. Whatevs broski. It's also an expected practice to change the entire focus of a user's uncomfortable question and go ad hominemz on dey azzes! I laid out evidence and was just asking a question. I was involved in the conversation after-all.

To be honest, you don't know much about my situation, so I would politely ask you to mind your manners or it's no dessert for you buster brown. Maybe I'm the one that deals with unhealthy obsessions, eh? Perhaps what you imagine was at one time far more one-sided because I know we don't chat and you seem rather opinionated. Maybe you are obsessed with me? Good for you, old bean. I'll tell you something else since you wanted in this A-B converstation. From what I know, charizard said he bears no ill will. I don't either have any issues, but this is one of those things that I remember he said he didn't do (ask/beg for Ninty Codes), so I was curious as I stated above. I'll tell you something else. There are some real dicks on the inter-webs (crazy people), and I'm going to be honest, I have bigger fish to fry when it comes to obsessions or whatever.

My lady is going to be rather disturbed that you are advocating a threesome, but I am going to bring it up anyways and I'm not adverse to the idea of finding another girl to add to the mix.

The truth is, I was in a specific conversation with charizard and I remembered something about Nintendo codes on one of the crazy little forums that I visit about 8-9 months ago. He denied it and told me it was unfounded, and I let it go. No need to White Knight for the Damsel in Distress, as you can see he's more than capable, lol.

I think you have an unhealthy obsession with me and you should find yourself a girl or something? (Psst...did I do it right?) In all seriousness, your comment didn't really add much other than paint a poor picture of the larger, longer, and older story. You disappointed me, amigo (Not that you care because I already know you don't).

I wasn't trying to stir the hornets nest, but I was legitimately curious as I was involved 9 months ago. What else can we do in a forum but communicate with each other? Part of me didn't want to ask, but the other part was confused and it's not like this subject of Nintendo Codes comes up every week. I consider it case closed, but I hope you can forgive me for daring to ask my question. You know what they say about curiosity and pussy cats, so I'll end with that (since you brought up my personal RL relationship).

A.) Gotcha, the distinction you see it as is that this isn't not asking for a Club Nintendo Code, this is asking for a Club Nintendo Reward Code. Yes, they are more rare given once a year, but there is a distinction none-the-less. *It's all in the fine print as they say. Having redeemed a Nintendo code and reward code on my Wii U/Various other Nintendo machines, I know how they work. I follow.

B.) This is your first time and it's a coincidence? That is completely acceptable, it just seemed you were so proud 8-9 months ago in that other conversation where you mentioned you have 2000+ coins and you insisted that all your codes are your own. Color me satisfied. Plus, you are operating under a specific set of distinctions you made personally regarding annual Nintendo rewards. BTW: Off topic, but that is nice that you gave it away to your younger brother. I too have younger brothers and I suspect they don't appreciate the sacrifices I make for them. They demonstrate a sense of entitlement, especially the youngest.

C.) I know that feels, bro. Regarding what was throwaway to you, in the link I noticed that other conversation was only 8-9 months ago and this topic of Nintendo Codes doesn't come up in SW as much so it stuck in my brain....plus you called the idea unfounded, so that idea of using other people's codes as being undignified to the likes of you stuck in me noggin more.

As far as your overall stance and reply, I say unto you, fair enough. Again, I guess the stance you had before was very Noble-eque regarding this "asking codes" subject and then today's encounter struck me as bi-polar and confusing, but I see now it's a coincidence and no bigs.

I will say this, I wasn't that impressed with the Nintendo Platinum awards this year. I went with DK Jr, although I only put two hours into it and I probably won't play it again for a long time. Perhaps at a BBQ I can get others to check it out as it was an arcade classic, plus I absolutely loved the the old 2007 King of Kong: Fist Full of Quarters documentary which I had to own on DVD. That movie featured the original DK proper, but Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe were also DK Jr. title holders too. The behind the scenes footage on the DVD was so funny and awesome on what they cut out of the movie. I might watch that again this year. :)

Interesting choices, but if I was to ever consider buying any it would likely only be Star Fox 64 and maybe Mario Golf. Still need to save up a lot more coins.

@SolidTy: I'll respond to both the posts here:

As mentioned above (which you have now acknowledged), there was a distinction between the Club Nintendo codes (which net you coins) and Club Nintendo Rewards (which you use coins for). Mind you, none of those two are relevant to the situation at hand, since we are discussing, as mentioned above, Club Nintendo Annual Rewards. This is more akin to me asking a friend to send me some waste or unneeded posters (or soundtrack discs) than asking for Club Nintendo codes, which is what your initial calling out was for, and which, I need to point out yet again, I have never actually done so far.

The second thing that you remember- me asking for codes and thanking someone- is even more interesting. I have never actually before asked anyone for any Nintendo system codes. I have given them away before (which has caused many to thank me here), but I have never actually asked for a code before. The closest situation I can think of- where I asked for a code that was not reciprocated either right before or after by me- was when I was made a gift on Steam during a sale, three years ago, by a user, without me asking for it, just to stress, and I thanked that user in the Lounge.

The third thing, yet again, is that I do not usually go around asking for free codes (and almost never without making some kind of recompense in turn, later if not sooner). This situation is very special- I had already redeemed my Platinum reward, That had in fact been this very game, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. I almost redeemed it to my own account, when I figured my brother has wanted it for a year, and I'm not the game's biggest fan to begin with, so what the hell, I'll just give it to him. Given the circumstances, I felt comfortable enough asking Zass, only if he has no need for his reward (this includes selling it away, incidentally), to send it over to me if he wished to. But again, as you pointed out, the situation has been cleared now, so no harm done, really.

The fourth thing was, it did disturb me a little when a pretty old conversation was brought up, admittedly (and then further cited and linked to). It disturbed me even more when you referred to an incident (I presume you are referring to me thanking my friend in the Lounge for the Steam game), as that is an even older incident, and one that did not even involve you, unlike the other conversation in question. However, I understand some people have a better memory than others, and you have demonstrated an excellent memory before, so maybe that was the reason that you were able to refer to it and cite it (although bringing up the even older conversation is still amusing lol). Which is fair enough, and honestly, I hope I develop better retention skills myself one day, since I have need for them.

As for the Club Nintendo Rewards, I do agree, they were universally disappointing. The quality has been in precipitous decline over the last few years, but this was a low point (especially after the statue that they gave away their first year- probably set too high a standard to be able to follow ever again). Games like these are what Nintendo should be offering monthly over Club Nintendo in a program similar to GwG or PS+. Ah well, baby steps I guess.

@charizard1605: That's reasonable. I am a fairy. My name is Nuff. Fairy Nuff.

Sometimes I just don't post in other threads (different users) because there is a potential for things can get out of hand, especially considering my detail oriented nature. Alas, I'm elated that cool heads prevailed. I appreciate you humoring my curiosity. You are a scholar and a gentleman.

Cheers.

I like that they're now offering 8 games instead of 4... unfortunately nothing I want this month. Luckily the annual rewards pickings were better.

My issue with the N64 games is that they aren't available on the wiiu eshop. It doesn't make any sense.

Should I get Star Fox 64, or pony up for the 3DS version?

The 3DS version is beautiful. That framerate improvement really helps for a game like this, to be honest.

Picked up the 3DS version yesterday, got lucky enough to find one used at gamestop. It is really nice looking, and the multiplayer is pretty good.

Yeah, shame they didn't make the multi online, though. But glad you're enjoying it!
