"Clint Mansell, composer of such classic motion picture scores as 'The Fountain' and 'Requiem For a Dream' dropped the news that he is writing the musical score for the last chapter in BioWare's epic Mass Effect trilogy in an interview with The Quietus about his latest film, 'Black Swan'.

Very cool. I love that one song in Requiem for a Dream. You know. The one everyone likes. That one. I thought Mass Effect had cool music already. Who composed the other two?

I like The Fountain OST and his work on Pi was pretty good. But I'd rather have John Murphy (Sunshine! 28 Days Later!) instead of him.

Or even better, Jack Wall and Sam Hulick :/

I doubt Clint's gonna score the whole thing, guessing both of them will work on it.

Considering how epic "Requiem for a Dream" is, Mass Effect 3 just a lot more awesome.

Its kind of funny, the vehicle they used in Moon looked somewhat like the one from Mass Effect too, its like some strange coincidence.

That's amazing. Somebody on the Mass Effect 3 PC board totally called it a few weeks back I think.

But I liked his work on Moon and the Fountain. I like that we're getting big name composers these days.

I'm guessing (and hoping) he's gonna compose some tracks, but most of the work will be done by Jack Wall. Kinda like Hans Zimmer in MW2. Wall did an incredible job with both ME games, the franchise has his signature.

Good stuff, his Moon soundtrack showed he can do sci-fi fantastically. Though I hope the guy who scored the last 2 (Wall?) continues to have an input too.

Wait a second, who did the score for ME1 and 2? I kind of preferred ME1's score so I'm kind of wondering if it was different people for even the first two before they announced this guy for the finale.

Well it's just a guess. It would be lame of Bioware to take Wall out for the last part of a trilogy when he worked and did a great job with the first 2.

So Jack Wall did both games, huh? Let's see how the movie guy performs in comparison to him then. ME1 had a boss soundtrack, so did ME2 of course, but there was something about ME1's score.

Granted, I still prefer Halo 1's score to the newer Halo scores so it could just be that first time hearing something new feeling. :P

this is going to be disappointing if Jack Wall doesn't get to do anything, while clint mansell has done good in movies, i feel like jack wall is a better fit for mass effect. I like both mass effect ost more than i do anything that clint mansell has done...

That song for requiem for a dream is awesome. Doubt he will top it for a video game, but something near as epic would be cool.

Edit: Lux Aterna or something I think it is. I remember trying to recreate it in some music program at school.

I absolutely love all of Darren Aronofskys films and I remember when I watched Requim for a Dream for the first time, and the soundtrack was just absolutely totally awe inspiring, although thesedays it is a little overdone on youtube. Mansell is a very talented composer, and this makes me 100X more exited for the third installment of ME.

I never got a chance to see it in theaters. :( Didn't hear about until it was out on Bluray. Blind bought it one day and absolutely loved it. Did you hear Duncan Jones is making a quasi-sequel to it called Mute?
