been using chatgpt3 for the last few weeks for some coding stuff. it seemed to just explode out of nowhere onto tech twitter in early dec and suddenly everyone was talking about it. it's very cool. dall-e for generating image based stuff too

Yeah I’ve seen seen some videos of people using it to write code. It’s very impressive! It still needs a human checking its work. But you can save a lot of time.

The correct answer is the big ol' killer whale known as PC swimming the oceans ranked as number one, with the rest just fighting to be the biggest fish in a small pond.

Yeah it could definitely assist a lot with game dev. Not just with the coding too: it could be used to generate 3D models and textures. Generate characters and animate them and generate audio. Even if it could only get the assets 80% of the way there that would be brilliant. The programmers/artists/sound engineers can take that then shape it more to what they want exactly.

If AI could take out a lot of the mundane elements of game dev that would be amazing.

Sadly, but inevitably, there will be a legal crapshow around copyright and such like though if/when this takes off.
