Bloodborne has no magic?

I've read multiple gameplay mechanics breakdowns and what I gathered is that apparently there's no magic.

I find it tad surprising, do you think the game is going to sustain its appeal without this element?

Aren't you worried it might affect PvP negatively and make it more boring (if there is PvP at all)? Do you think they wanted to gear it towards more casual hack n slash oriented audience?

Hmmm, that's interesting. There might be some other system in place we don't know about.

All I know is that we need a Bloodborne hype thread since March is almost here.

I wonder if that's gonna be the whole gun thing. Multiple types of guns and stuff.

I thought it got replaced by the guns and bullets system, from what i have seen there are going to be multiple build around different types of guns and different bullets, also looks like there will be a greater variety of type of weapons with different playstyles, i don't think variety will be a problem, again, this is what i think from what i've seen, could be wrong tho.

Replaced by ranged weapons. I can assure you that there will be Aveline 2.0 that everyone will abuse and it'll take FROMSOFT months before they tone them down. I really hope there's no buffs stacking as we used to have in DkS2, it was such a joke, wtf was fromsoft thinking...

Magic seems to have been replaced with guns, fire, and electricity.

I've always played as a melee character with supplemental magic, so it doesn't bother me.

I think From wants to force us to get our hands dirty, er ummm, bloody. Magic is for pussies.

I think it'll get reduced appeal for the lack of it. I think people should really consider the Bloodborne title (no -Souls tagged).

I seem to remember seeing /reading of a magic alternative in this game which will provide means on doing similar things but not quite so magical. Can't remember where or when i saw it though and maybe it was just a consumable.

Guns are the pseudo-replacement for magic. The whole game's about taking a more offensive approach as opposed to a passive one, and magic in the Souls games always let you play way too defensively.

It has guns. Honestly, I am SO done with magic in every fucking fantasy game in the universe. Guns, yes, give me guns.

I never used magic in the Souls games anyway. It was a lot less fun than melee.

its not always about fun but min maxing for pvp and magic/pyromancies like great combustion are useful and very powerful.

Good players knew how to get around magic. It made winning with magic against knowledgeable players very interesting actually, you had to plan two steps ahead to catch them. Also, trolling less knowledgeable players with Chameleon and powerful attack spells like Crystal Soul Spear was just SO DAMN FUN.

Tried magic a few times, didn't care for it. More into heavy armor.

Magic was for the medieval setting. Now that their using a Victorian setting, clockworks and muskets will replace magic

Fun to troll mages, but this game look more about pitchfork and alleys.

Casual's don't like Hack n' Slash games so whatever they did.... it wasn't for casuals....

Anyway.... the more important question is.... will there be stats ? Will the game's difficulty be basef around stats..... can you still one shot bosses if you use a weapon buff, a personal buff, a ring and a powerfull weapon ? are they going to ganking bosses for the express purpose of cornering you into using summons ?

because people like it and no one gives a damn about your opinion so they will continue to do games with stats. Shocking, i know! And you will continue to whine about them as if devs or people will stop making/playing because some random scrub on the internet keep throwing a tantrum about it.

Non issue to me. Come to think of it, "traditional" fantasy magic spells would look a bit out of place in this game.

All I care about is that the game is good and from the previews it looks excellent. No need for a checklist of things to include from the previous titles. As much as I enjoyed Demons and Dark, I'm starting to have my fill. Shaking up the formula sounds good to me.

What would be great is if the two of you could create the thread together haha. Two sides of a coin, it would be the most bipolar thread of all time! Basically you would list all the features and positive looking aspects of the game, then LuLu gets a '2nd take' paragraph under each section to vent his bitter frustrations lol. That'd be a hype thread worth reading.

In a way, it would be like a... co-op? Yes, how could LuLu say no to that.

In the end though, I think it would result in a homicide. Some things just aren't meant to be.

On a serious note though, maybe you should make the thread. I would take a crack at it, but I'm far too lazy to maintain a hype thread plus I'm not up to speed on everything regarding Bloodborne.

i have the same problem as you, i am too lazy to make and maintain a hype thread, many times i see something incredibly stupid and instead of explaining i just take the shortcut and go for the drama. I just take 5 from work or whatever i am doing, ruffle some feathers and go back to my stuff, but maybe i will make it, been a while since i've been really hyped for a game

cows are scared as hell of this game, after the order they dunno what to expect

for all we know this could be another 5 hour demo for dark souls 3 and not a true finished game product just kinda like a short tech demo like the order for rpg fans

COWS admit it this game could be unfinished and be releasing early to push ps4 sales notice how they didn't drop the price of ps4 they gonna wait till this game comes out cuz they think its a system seller

this game is only made to sell ps4's its gonna be short and lacking magic and probably tons of other stuff its gettin rushed out the door by sony ceo's just like the order
