Blizzard to release a new game to consoles

Blizzard Entertainment has been working on an unannounced game for a while now, as revealed by the cstudio’s career opportunity ads, and they just posted a very interesting one seeking a Senior Software Engineer

The ad is quite relevant because it explicitly mentions development on consoles, indicating that the new game will follow Diablo’s current multiplatform’s path.

While the ad does not include any indication on which specific consoles the game will be heading to, “multiplatform” development is mentioned several times, so it definitely won’t be exclusive.

Most probably it’ll also have online features (but that’s not surprising considering the fact that we’re talking about Blizzard) or it could even be an entirely online title, as the ad requires experience working on “networked games.”

It’ll be interesting to see whether we’ll hear something about it at E3 or we’ll have to wait longer, but it’s Blizzard, so long development cycles shouldn’t surprise anyone.

There's already multiple spiritual successors to Diablo 2, called Torchlight, Torchlight 2 and the best of the bunch Path of Exile. All PC exclusive though so out of the hands of the console only... things.

I'm quite a fan of the Diablo universe though, all I want is the atmosphere of D1 and the gameplay of D2. They should have brought back the gothic darkness and foreboding that oozed from the previous games.

It is going to be Starcraft : Ghost or another dumbed down game like Diablo 3 . Hopefully it'll be SC Ghosts since it'll work perfectly with both MK and Controller . But I also want new IP and Warcraft 4 .

Blizzard are making an FPS lead by some guy who worked on Left 4 Dead, it's just that, or Hearthstone being ported to Consoles

SC Ghost is lone dead & WoW/SC2 would be impossible on Consoles, they had to dumb down D3 massively for it to work on consoles

I hope not . I don't want to see another disappointing game like Diablo 3 , targeted for wider audience . After years of wait , we want a proper Warcraft game for core fans . If it is some new IP then they can release it on whatever platform they want . Specially if it is something similar to Starcraft : Ghost .

I think Titan MMO will be some kind of FPS and they will allow different platform owners to play together . They already confirmed that Titan won't be subscription based MMO . I hope it's not F2P though .

On other hand Starcraft : Ghost for PC and Consoles would be nice but I really want Legacy of the Void and Warcraft 4 .

Totally agree . It is huge improvement over first game . I didn't finish first game but it looked pretty decent (my brother finished it though , he was also huge fan of Diablo 2) . When Torchlight 2 came out , I couldn't stop playing for two full days until I saw credits (soon after that I was ready for my second walkthrough) . I gave it 10/10 .

Eh, Diablo 3 is better than Torchlight II. Better graphics, more gameplay mods, better boss battles, utterly better soundtrack, voice acting, story e.t.c... Torchlight II's main appeal is the cheapness, lack of DRM.

Blizzard are world class developers being marred mainly by the fact they are completely greedy and arrogant cunts who think they can do whatever they like now. And with a droolling fanbase who will eat up and defend them to the ends of the earth, no wonder.

When Diablo 3 got such negative feedback reality kicked in, the Blizzard people went "oh, that wasn't suppose to happen, we are the bestest, this cannot be".

I like the way the title of this thread works. It implies (Intentionally or not) that this is going to be a console exclusive, despite the fact that it'll actually be a PC game poorly ported over to consoles.

Stop being so paranoid.

I read the title and thought "Really? Blizzard moving away from the PC?" As did a lot of people I'd assume. I don't like misleading titles, that's all.

I agree that Blizzard are world class developers but Diablo 3 was disappointment . Yes , it have higher production values than Torchlight but when it comes to actual gameplay , loot , exploration , skill trees and replay value , Torchlight 2 is far ahead of Diablo 3 .

I didn't give a shit about Torchlight series until I was disappointed by Diablo 3 and then after that when I played TL 2 , my mind was blown . I couldn't believe that Diablo 3 is created by Blizzard , because Starcraft 2 : Wings of Liberty is my 2nd best PC exclusive in many years and in my best games ever list .
