Blacklight: Retribution gets an 8.5 on IGN

I haven't tried this game but after seeing this score I'm downloading it right now to see how I like it. Big surprise though, thought this game would get a lower score since (it isn't a big budget mainstream game and the first one sucked).

I was in the beta, and it is actually a pretty fun game, but I just had to get back to BF3.

It doesn't matter if you like COD, the controls are great, definately not clunky and slow.

How dare you relate me to IGN. Are CoD's controls good because all you do it point and shoot, and it doesn't go beyond that? And yes, it is clunky as hell. Especially those awful animations.

(BTW I like iron sights.)

Meh won't bother. There are much better looking F2P shooters like Tribes Ascend, Hawken and Firefall.

Looks like a free to play game with some actual quality control.. Think I'll check it out.

Played the close beta and didn't like it, but I gave it a chance again after release and had a massive improvement. Should defenitely give it a try.

Gamespot did review this and gave a 6.5.

It's very average. I downloaded it as well. Graphics are real nice for F2p game and the visor thing is kinda cool, but otherwise not worth the time (or score)

Saw a feature for this on X Play a week ago and DL'd it, pretty fun even though I can't max it yet til I get a new video card :P

EDIT: I saw GS gave it a 6.5, then I remember they gave LoL a 6 so not too influenced by their scores anymore

Played 2 matches, its pretty decent a typical shooter not much to write home about, but if your bored and got a few buddies to play with then its worth burning some time while having fun.

I hate CoD as much as the next guy, but you give credit where credit is due, and CoD does not have clunky controls.

In respect to Blacklight, the controls are great, the online is damn fun once you get the hang of it, and even though it looks like a Free-To-Play game, everything else feels like something you'd pump $40-$60 for (at least in my opinion).

Hmm, looks interesting. Been looking for a new shooter for my PC. I'll give it a try at least since it's free.

If GS gave BL:R a 6.5 I wonder what they'll give Tribes Ascend. Ace6301

When I tried MW3 during Steam Free week, I played the game and it felt pretty clunky to me

I agree with the mechs, anyone at a killing spree can buy one pretty early on in the game and go on a massacre, or block a chockpoint. Pretty solid overall and will play it more to kill time while I wait for major releases.

I hate how the recoil system, they need o make it where your gun sets it self back to where you had it after firing like in other shooters, it gets annoying having to slide down everytime that happens

This game adds wallhacking as a feature:P

Apart from that it looks rather good.

Didn't know it was out so I just gave it a shot... I love the level of customization and the overall theme of the game is great, but I really don't care for the feel. I guess it's sort of like CoD, but the run speed is much slower and the accuracy is all over the place, but it still has quick ADS. Not sure if I like that sort of style. If a game is slower paced, I'd prefer EVERYTHING be slower, or if it's supposed to be a quick ADS run around type of game, I'd prefer the run speed and run while ADS'ing to be faster.

And it doesn't seem to run very well on my PC :(

There's also the fact that i feel like cannon fodder for higher level players.. the beginning gear is crap in comparison to what you can get. I've picked up a few highly customizable guns, and holy hell the difference is like night and day. At least when you start playing CoD, the beginning classes before you can customize are fairly competitive.
