Call of Duty hasn't stayed the same game for the past 20+ years. It'll get there though. This was long overdue. Neither has Zelda. Having dungeons, and have a story that revolves around Link and Zelda doesn't mean it's the same game. It just means it's a Zelda game. If you want retreads, in the time between Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, five (5) Call of Duty games have come out.
If he wanted SW to explode, he would've given UC3 a 7.5.

Nah that would've had the explosion power of like...a firecracker :P Plus everyone thinks UC2>UC3 so they wouldn't have complained. (I think UC3 is far better in every way except the stupid aiming mechanics.)

My question for Tom: What is your favorite Zelda game? What is your favorite 3D Zelda game? This is just to gain a little perspective on where he is coming from.
Question to Tom(doubt he will answer) Why did you complain about something that no other reviewers had problems with(quest, motion controls)? How can you prove that this was not a publicity stunt you are trying to pull? Can you please never review a big game again

This is a strange situation, as EGM gave the game an 8.5; "Poor motion controls remind us of 5 years of flailing futility"
What is strange is that some people have, like you said, ZERO problems. This is what I don't understand. Is there something tricky with the controls? Are they faulty? Is it something very simple that some people can't grasp? THIS is what no review seems to answer, and it is a rather big question that needs to be answered for a lot of potential buyers.

This game uses so few buttons that the Dual Shock could easily handle it without needing to use L2 and R2 as long as sword control was mapped to the right analog stick.

It's not a score everyone assumes it will get. It's a game that GOT the score everyone thought it would get by all the other game sites. lol!! The score really makes Gamespot look bad. Of course everyone has a right to their opinion, but when your opinion is so far off the deep end, it makes you look silly. Zelda SS: 7.5 -vs- Metacritic: 94 Super Mario Land 3D 8.0 -vs- Metacritics: 89 That's comedy gold.
My question would be: Is your review taking into consideration the quality and polish standard used today in your average, decently reviewed game? Is it still "just" a "good" game when compared to what gets released nowadays? Or is this rather low Zelda score punishing the game for whatever faults you think it might have, even though outside the Zelda IP, this kind of craftsmanship, polish and attention to detail is usually rewarded with much positive impressions?

For it to replicate all the stuff Motion+ does, it would need to use the controller to it's maximum potential, and it would still be missing the whole thing that puts it all together: your arm.

It's great but not that great.

doesn't matter. If Tom re-reviews SS, that'll subtract ANY credibility that Gs have left after that K&L debacle. If they review Ss again, Gs is no longer credible to me.
