lol @ noobs that think games with worse graphics have better gameplay. The gameplay is always identical, and it's the games with better graphics that usually have more refined gameplay. This is the dumbest question that keeps getting asked on SW.

I don't see anyone claim that. But most people would agree that having good gameplay is more important than good graphics. Of course, having both is ideal.
Gameplay easily.
Graphics are important though. But to me, there's a pretty low level at which graphics become "good enough" to not negatively affect my enjoyment anymore. Bassicaly, what I require is clean, nice looking graphics, even if it's very simple 2D, bassicaly on the level where it doesn;t hurt the experience. I do not require high end visuals to have fun with the game, just visuals designed by somebody who knows what he's doing.
Good example of that is Command Ops series:
Those are obviously extremely simple graphics. But the interface is clean and user friendly and those maps, while very basic, make it really easy to play the game. As long as I have that I'm happy

I'd personally go for gameplay as I believe graphics themselves don't make a great game.

The Sheep Warcry.
What makes you think I'm "sheep" ? ;)
I may be a "anti-hermit hermit" for all you may know :P
Altho I don't deny being a Nintendo fan (also Sega fan while we're at it).
Gameplay easily.

I agree with you. I've spent a lot of time on source games like TF2 and CSS, high res clean games without a ton of postprocessing and other effects look much better to me than low res blurry ones with tons of effects.
Everything that's not Battlefield 3>Battlefield 3 Back on topic, Gameplay by a mile. What point is there in playing a pretty game that's not fun, you know like Battlefield 3? That said, there are plenty of games that other both. Just Cause 2 is the first game that comes to mind.Counter Strike Source>Battlefield 3
What do you think?

Wii doesn't have the graphics.Mostly makes sense after a little fixing. But PC does have a lot more than just graphics.PC got graphics.
PS3/360 got both.
Easy choice

Not really. I just found it amusing how it got criticized for being "backwards" while games which really do regress modern gaming got a lot of praise ;)
All PC gamers must choose graphics or they're lying. That is all.lundy86_4
Nope. Gameplay for me.

Nah.
Okay.Better gameplay.
Some pics of HD Wii/Gamecube games looked like they were this-gen, perhaps even better.
From what I know, that's because the developers of the games in question had decent modellers.
On a separate note, I'm disappointed with the number of votes for the last option.
Two votes? Really? We need more joke votes.
Oh, no one is questioning or denying that graphics make a game more enjoyable.

...Only he did.
Anyway, I agree with everything else you said.

Let me put it this way:
A game with 10/10 gameplay and 1/10 graphics > a game with 9/10 gameplay and 10/10 graphics.
Furthermore, a game with 10/10 gameplay and 1/10 graphics == a game with 10/10 gameplay with 10/10 graphics.Cherokee_Jack
So if all current games looked like this tomorrow, you would have the exact same experience with them.

Given that "super meat boy" is actually a fun game, and poor graphics... i'd go with poor graphics and better gameplay.Let's say you were to choose between high-budget games with great graphics but limited/stale gameplay and low-budget games with poor graphics but great gameplay - what would you choose, better graphics or better gameplay?
Imagine a future where there's no "middle point" anymore and you have to pick sides.
So what would it be?
I'd personally go for gameplay as I believe graphics themselves don't make a great game.
What about you?

Never played enough 1.6 to tell the difference. But I refuse to listen to the 1.6 crowd as most of them are stubborn mules.
Not saying you are though
bannable offense right there. This is so dumb. Of course people prefer better gameplay but that is such a opinionated issue. Graphics (technical) is something that is more objective. That is why there are more threads about graphics than gameplay. Also, gameplay isn't as limited by technology as graphics are. Sure, PC games can have more complex gameplay due to the mouse/keyboard (which is why RTSs and MMORPGs thrive on the PC, as well as some FPSs), but gameplay design, depth, complexity, story, etc... comes down do the developers.

Depends on the game, but in most casses gameplay is the key. Some of the more artistic games such as Journey rely on there art style to potray it's quality and works well. I myself prefer gameplay of graphics but good graphics too will only enhance the experience.
Both. But since that is bot an option then gameplay.
And the PC has their fair share of bad gameplay as well.:P
To answer your question: No, it would be a different experience. Does it matter? No, because if the gameplay is top notch, I'm still going to have an awesome experience.trugs26
But you're saying the experience won't be even remotely improved?
You have no appreciation for the artistic side of games, just the raw gameplay?
