Best Sound Design this gen

Which game do you think has the best sound design this gen?

For FPS games probably Bad Company 2 From what I have played.

God of War 3 also had really good sound

Sound desing?? I'm not sure if I quite get this... but IMO the best soundtrack this gen goes to Brutal Legend.

Bad Company 2 for effects

Nier is pretty good for music (so far, I just started it today).

As others have said, Bad Company 2. It sounds incredible.

Killzone 3 sounds really amazing aswell. Led_poison

I am disappointed a the absolute lack of F.E.A.R. being mentioned.

That game gave me goosebumps. Muted soundtrack, things going bump in the background and then a hail of bullets! Great stuff!

Call of duty mw2. the sound of a 12 yearold screaming is just so lovely. Whats that you say ? Its not part of the in game soundtrack you say?

Dead Space has amazing sound design and Bad Company 2 has some pretty darn good effects to go with their game. MGS4 has high quality and uncompressed sound, as well as some PS3 exclusives like KZ3...

GOW 3 had awesome audio that begged to be played with a sub woofer. Been after feel Poseidon's voice as well as hear it was awesome.

Wow, a lot of people are saying Bad Company 2. The sound in that game must be that good.

Bad Company 2, Dead Space 1 & 2.

Also throwing a mention to Mafia 2. The voice work was particularly great and all the guns sounded authentic and "crisp". The car effects were also very convincing, I just imagined that's what older cars sounded like.

Finally want to say Demon's Souls. The sound really surprised me in that game and each world has subtle differences that really bring them to life.

Bad Company 2 for effects. Halo 3 and Mass Effect 1 overall.

Definitely Bad Company 2, but Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2 have some killer soundtracks.

dead space is pretty great in regards to soundcampzor

My only problem is that you can hear your gun shots and footsteps in space. Its super muffled and its a really cool effect, but in real life you couldn't hear anything because sound can't travel through space at all! Not even muffled!

Bad Company 2 and Killzone 2/3.

Get a good set of headphones and prepare to be blown away. :P

An honourable mention goes to Crysis.

From the videos I've watched I think Killzone 3 has the best sound this gen.

Bad Company 2, amazing sounds.

BC2 without a doubt... play with headphones and it's just surreal.

Also GTA4 has some excellent sound effects. play it with headphones and you'll hear all kinds of things you haven't heard before.

Seriously though, Top 5 (in no particular order) would be something like Bad Company 2, Killzone 2, Killzone 3, Dead Space 1/2, Red Dead Redemption. Uncharted 2, Mafia 2, and BioShock also deserve mentions.
