[QUOTE="Log1czzz"] [QUOTE="THETRUEDOZAH"]meh Ninty was good when they were actually keeping pace with industry standards. They haven't made a game in the last decade that's even slightly interested me. I'm just sick of their candy-coated bubble gum flavored crap. I wish they could have matured with me as a developer, but they insist on catering to that part of the market which is comprised mainly of children and grown people with developmental issues.THETRUEDOZAH
I disagree with the part of "grown people with developemental issues". If the only way you feel like an adult is by shooting someone in a videogame than you have a lot of self esteem issues.
As far as nintendo goes, why would they want to alienate their core audience by making violent titles. Just look at Rare. They made a pretty descent game in Viva Pinata, but it did not sell well b/c they do not have the proper demographics for the type of game they make.
And nintendo can continue to make as many "candyy-coated bubble gum flavored crap" as they want. Especially because they are all million+ sellers, that are often AAA's.
i'm not trying to say that playing FPS's, Action, and Racing are the only games 'real men' play. I've just got to question the mental integrity of an adult who could stomach a pokemon game, or a mario party, or any number of the ADD-intensive experiences typified by Wario Ware, Wii Sports, ect. IMO Rare's 360 gameshave donepoorly because they aren't quality. You can't say PD0 didn't appeal try to appeal to the shooter-centric fanbase, it just wasn't a good enough game. Viva Pinata or Kameo probably should have been released on a Nintendo system, where it would have stood out as an exceptional example of what lame derivitave garbage primarily constitutes a Nintendo system's library. games that caters to the person that could best be described as having 'bad taste'.
And what was the last AAA Nintendo game? Wario Ware, Wiitard edition? Yeah, i'll pass on that. Itis a matter of aesthetics, and I've found Nintendo's games to be seriously underwhelmingsince the SNES days.As for me, the only Wii game i'm remotely interested in could probably be done just as well on aGBA (fire emblem).
I agree that a bunch of stuff released by Nintendo is garbage, but Wario Ware was a title that allowed people to use the wii remote in new ways. And as far as "bad taste", yea it would look like that if you only mention wii sports, and pokemon. But you are conviently forgetting, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Smash...
