What was best 2-d to 3-d game of all time? I say The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.......which is also my FAVORITE game ever.
BTW, i has to be the FIRST 3-d game in the series.

Zelda made a pretty good translation with OoT and so did Mario. Sadly, we can't say the same about Sonic.
The Metal Gear series, and naturally, the Zelda Series.
The real question is, though, which are better:
The 2D Zeldas or the 3D Zeldas?

that really is a tough question. the 2d zelda were great and hold a lot of good memories. however, the leap in improvements and quality in OoT makes my choose the 3d Zelda over the 2d ones
GTA. As the above poster said, Ninty games were always popular. GTA3 basically created a genre and brought Rockstar worldwide fame. It did things never done before, going from a top-down view to a fully realised 3D world. Some still consider it the best GTA ever created. Its a masterwork.
zelda OoT is the best, but the worst? well, that is mega manshadow_hosi
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Megaman Legends (which was AWESOME) the first 3D Megaman?

IMO: 2d zeldas are defiantly harder *some of the bosses in LTTP were ridiculous* and the transition to 3d did really tone down Zelda's difficulty alot. But the 3d adventures are just more immersive than the top down 2d iterations. That and the 3d realm opened up the possibilities for alot of great puzzles within the dungeons.
Super Mario 64, and GTA3.
Sonic's wasn't as bad as you think. Sonic Adventure was fine, the sequels following are what soiled his name. (although, cheesy though it may be, I don't think SA2 is bad either)
agreed. When Sonic heros was released, that when the series did a downward spiral toward mediocrity.Super Mario 64, and GTA3.

Definitely. I rented it, couldn't freaking stand it.
Ninja Gaiden.
The 2D games were good fun games, but in 3D it took it to a whole new level. It didn't just try to recreate the game in 3D as other franchises have, it really made it a new thing entirely. Even to this day Ninja Gaiden is still the action game that all others try to be.
Or if it counts, the James Bond franchise :P Going from The Duel to probably the best console FPS ever made.

Haven't picked it up yet.....I'm going up to gamecrazy later, so i might grab it.
I disagree. While OoT was a great game, it had a pretty bad camera, which is exactly what ruins a 2D-to-3D game translation.
I'll go with Metroid Prime.
