dreman999
You're right, I'm Muslim as well. I dont know it is wise or not to bring religions here, but in Indonesia because mostly the people are Muslim well...that's different when I went to America, you can see woman in bikini walking in the street, in Indonesia you can't find it unless you go to Bali.
Maybe because of the culture so I feel embarassed when I played Bayonetta in my country but you people who lived in america don't?
im a fairly immature adult and even i don't have issues with seeing nudity in front of my parents. if you're old enough to buy and play it then grow up and deal with it.
z4twenny
Sometimes it's the parents that are immature.

sex is accepted in our culture just as much as violence. The violence is THAT VIOLENT anyway. But just look at all the tv shows out there like friends where all they do is have sex. SEX is accepted, full nudity is not.

Violence isnt something people commonly practice behind close doors, sex is. Sex is (for most people) a private activity, and not particularly something many people want to discuss with their parents.I learned my lesson after playing San Andreas in front of my parents never to let them near an M-rated game again..

the human body no. But having sex as said is more of a privite matter.
Don't let anyones comments make you uncomfortable when you're playing a game you like. Most people will say things about gamesout of either impulse or ignorance when they walk in on them.Itmay hit harderwhen said by family, but shake it off. In fact, about 3 hours ago I was playing Bayonetta and my sister was like "that is the most messed up game ever" and I just said "I know and it's ****ing awesome!"

ok, I understand you comment now. Play it at night. So what? Sexuality is viewed differently in different places and at different times, some are more open while others are less. I find it amusing that some people here draw some sort of cultural superiority because they can see nudity with their parents. Its not like there are places in Europe like France than are more open about these things than Sweden. And anyways US is a big country with different opinions in different places and between different groups. I would honestly take modern US culture over its European equivilant. While producing lots of trash atleast it can create something good once in a while but everything in Europe feels fake and manufactured.

I'm from Kuwait and I'm Muslim and yet I play Bayonetta while my mother is watching me playing xD.
If they question you just tell them it's Japanese. SAGE_OF_FIREthis is really the best solution to this thread you parents, family or whoever will understand :P
My mate (16 years)played Bayonetta infront of me his other mate, 4 of his other friends that are girls and his 14 year old sister. Obviously the girls werent too proud about the game, anytime they asked about the game all we said was *Its made by asians..enough said*, Find it funny girls always in little bikinis short shorts littleskirts, guys with their shirts always off or in speedos people making out with randoms are getting piss faced. Yet soon as a side boob is in a game WOW WATCH OUT BAN THAT. Would i personally feel embarassed if i played Bayonetta infront of my parents ? Maybe alittle its just the game is so over the top and obviously it makes fun of itself in that way it KNOWS its over the top and gladly does it, just parents might think of it in a different way.
You know what, it'll be real awkward if you're playing this game in front of your parents, they'll think you're a lil horny kid or a pervert. Especially Asian, American parents.
The controversy over that was there were children watching that game, that's why people got upset. Like I said, if it's adult oriented entertainment, I dont think many people get out raged... but if it's half-time at the Super Bowl when people of all ages are watching everywhere... I can see the controversy.[QUOTE="carljohnson3456"][QUOTE="beekayjay"] Sex sells in America yes, but only to a certain point. Putting a hot girl in a bikini in a car ad is on thing. Nudity is another issue and one that Americans seem very sensitive about. Janet Jackson's career almost tanked after that Superbowl incident. But Saw? Hell yeah, let's make 18 of them!!!ThePRAssassin
Who the hell watches the half time show? Almost nobody and I can guarantee that. That's the time you go to the bathroom, get some more drinks, go smoke a cigarette, get some more food. Nobody actually sits there and watches boring performer waste our time.
Except the kids, who don't smoke or "drink", can't leave the house on their own, and probably have their own schedules when it comes to drinks and bathrooms breaks (partly because they don't realize the timing of the game, partly because their younger bodies aren't as resilient about holding in).Indonesia is mostly Muslim, right?[QUOTE="dreman999"][QUOTE="crashndash"] oh i remember when i lived in singapore there was alot of censoring, down in that area of the world if anyone sees someone into something with a bit of nudity they judge you harsh! lol and family reactions are even worse lol, just put up with playing it at midnight otherwise who knows what will happen lol ihsanqueen

It depends, but I can see the culture angle (it's not so much the religion but the culture founded on the religion that creates the taboos). In America, it may not be something one plays in front of children and certain women. In front of other guys, though, they'd probably be all cool about it--a kick-butt chick who kicks butt (especially one not averse to knowing what she's got) has a certain allure.I think it's a culture thing. Showing plain skin isn't considered a bad thing. In fact, the closer one can get without crossing the line, the sexier sometimes (thus bikinis and Speedos). The thing is that the LINE, based on cultural precedents, is pretty hard-set: do not show anything specific of the anatomy related to sex, excrement, or motherhood--those are considered private matters that should be left behind closed doors. My mate (16 years)played Bayonetta infront of me his other mate, 4 of his other friends that are girls and his 14 year old sister.
