Another Screenshot Comparison: Uncharted 2 vs. Crysis

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has received nearly god-like acclaim if the onslaught of professional reviews is to be believed. The Playstation 3 exclusive has been lauded for combining stellar graphics and nuanced touches with an excellent full-blown action adventure that sees Nathan Drake investigating the mystery of Marco Polo's 13th century ill-fated return voyage from China. The game sports lavish jungle landscapes, detailed facial expressions (along with details like grime and scrapes) and realistic architectural textures reflecting the rough side of history. Join us as we see how the current king of PS3 games stands up to the titan of graphics-whore first person shooters, Crytek's Crysis.

This again? Really? Crysis has way larger environments and it's foliage kicks the **** out of Uncharted 2's (Just watch the E3 footage and look at the palm trees in the beginning). It's not close.

What the **** kind of a resolution is that? Uncharted 2 runs at 720p (1280x720) and Crysis can run up to 2560X1600.

Why? Why why why must people encourage these nonsense comparisons that do nothing but to stroke Cows egos? I've had people say that simply having them compared so often proves how good Uncharted 2 is. No, Cows compare every freaking one of their hype titles with Crysis.

Nothing can beat crysis in graphics.

But if you are talking about what looks better

that depends on the person who is looking at it.

I asked my 8 year old niece

what looks better this one(Flower PSN game) or that one(Crysis)?

She picked Flower.

I personally think Drake/Elena/Chloe looks better than generic space marines, but the rest of the game is no contest. Crysis wins.

Cosidering those are modded, uber-high quality, uber-high resolution screenshots of Crysis...Uncharted 2 holds it's own.

I'm not saying Uncharted 2 looks bad (it's looks great, in fact), but Crysis destroys it graphically.

Open world vs scripted narrow pathways.

Crysis still looks better, has better physics, destructable environments, component damage and is years old. This thread is massive fail.

To get an idea of what I mean just look at a photo on the computer. Sure it looks like real life, but there's nothing going on behind the scenes.

they're 2 different concepts:
- Uncharted 2 looks cartoonish, as if it was painted.
- Crysis looks realistic.

Uncharted 2 still doesn't come anywhere near crysis' standards

Why do some of you get angry just because they are comparing a game to Crysis. They are'nt saying Uncharted 2 looks better, they are just showing how good it looks on a console compared to the great looking Crysis. Though I never got Crysis looking as good as some of the screens that shows up in these threads, even on high. I think Uncharted 2 holds it's own, with it's character models, great animation, snow and water effects, and gameplay.

Both look superb, but in my eyes Uncharted 2 has a sort of mix with trying to look real and an arty style, whereas Crysis aims to look photo realistic. Just my opinion.

these need to stop, nothing wil beat crysis this gen, it may look good ut stop the comparisions.

Hey great, haven't seen a silly comparison like this one in the last 6 hours.

U2 will fail hard if people really think it's anywhere on the same visual level as Crysis.

Also keep in mind that the foliage is background in uncharted. In crysis, you can pretty much go anywhere and saw down the trees with machine gun fire if you like. Even disregarding that though, crysis looks better.

Even with all the touch ups in the world, Crysis still steamrolls uncharted 2. I mean come on we've all seen uncharted 2 in game and it looks awesome but it is not as good as those screens quite obviously.

What's the point of this thread? Everyone knows that PC will always beat Consoles in the graphics department.

Uncharted 2 has the best graphics within the PS3 and no other PS3 game would surpass it.

Your bullshots don't looks as good as crysis gameplay. Thanks for trying though.
