Both the Standard and Value packs are all snapped up

The PS Vita TV was Sony's shock announcement of its pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference and marks the company's entry into the burgeoning micro-console arena.

The new system has clearly been a hit with consumers, as Amazon Japan is reporting that it has completely sold out of its allocation of pre-order stock. Both the Value and Standard bundles are now all accounted for.

The system doesn't launch in Japan until November 14th, and although a western release is expected, Sony hasn't confirmed exactly when it will happen.

Oh God, Sony is on a roll, it seems that nobody will be able to stop their momentum this generation. The PlayStation brand is hotter than ever

a non-portable version of the Vita that hooks up to the TV and still costs more, personally I'd just rather have a Vita

Its the same thing but instead of owning the handheld you play the games on a bigger screen thats all.. some games are not supported at launch but they all will once the DS4 is out

All games will be supported once the DS4 is out, the games were slashed because some supported touch screen features which the DS4 will support since it has a touch pad

I'm curious as to how that would work? I'd imagine some games you'd need the actual screen for the touch screen to work, such as rhythm games.

sigh i cant find it because i read it somewhere on N4G but this is the closest where they say the Vita TV will be patched to support the DS4 thus should allow the touch screen games to be supported http://www.gizmag.com/sony-ps-vita-tv/28996/

It will most likely be where you put your finger on the touch pad and track it on the screen with your eyes to know where your hitting for an example.

They say it's unclear how certain games will work, and then something about the DS4 being supported with remote-play. Nothing more.

I guess that could explain why the vita sales were down as everyone was waiting for Sony to announce a revision at the conference.

It just might do that actually, with more people buying the Vita TV means more developers will make games for the system so more RPGs, platformers, FPS's, etc that not only playable on the handheld but also on the Vita TV, the more i think about the Vita TV the more it sounds just an amazing idea by Sony, its win for all parties wither your a Vita owners, Vita TV owner or PS4 owner and remember all that for $99 even cheaper than a 3DS ( going to guess $80 in NA )

If you seriously think Vita TV will topple a 3DS with Monster Hunter and Pokemon, I don't know what to say to you.

This version of the vita will obviously do better than the vita, but it probably won't save the vita completely. The device looks cool from what I read.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) the Vita's touch screen isn't very precise to begin with, so there are very few games that are built around exacting touch inputs.  The few that are don't even work that well on the Vita either so no big loss I guess.

With how bad the Vita sales are shipments are probably extremely low, whats the point in producing lots of units if it's not going to sell.
