You can't see a huge difference but you can feel it. It's not as big a deal on consoles, but on PC, with a mouse, the difference between 30 and 60 is huge.

There is a difference between 30 and 60. Buy a computer and test the differences yourself.

The difference between 30FPS and 60FPS is rather visible.

http://boallen.com/fps-compare.html this site has .gif running at 15, 30 and 60FPS.

Now...The difference between 30FPS and 60 FPS is rather noticable, but the jumo from 60FPS to 120FPS is even more. Sadly only a few monitors do run 120HZ and most people have 60HZs.

There is definitely a very apparent difference, but I agree the only true way to understand the difference is to feel it. It's one thing to see side-by-side video, and an entirely different thing to actually be playing the game.

It mainly has to do with PC's, it becomes very noticeable when using higher dpi control methods such as a mouse.

When you get used to playing something fast paced like an FPS at 60 frames, its super obvious when it drops below. 30 is gamebreaking for me in those kinds of games and I don't know how consolites deal with them.

The higher is better. why is a 720p HDTV not as good as a 1080P one? why do sports look better on a 120hX TV compared to a 60Hz TV games play smoother at 60FPS. it makes a difference. PC will always have the best frame rate, but i'm sad to see PS4 doesn't have nay games running 30FPS, doesn't seem very next gen to me.

Which doesn't make sense because Nintendo is getting 60 FPS games on the Wii U currently it is 720p and 60 FPS but Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, and SSBWiiU is going to be 1080p and 60 FPS.

well when it comes to hardware limitations, something has got to give. you know the old saying a chain is only as string as its weakest link? I think the design of the PS4 has some flaws that developers need to work around to get 60FPS out of it. also openGL isn't good for running stable 60FPS like directX is so thats another hurdle. also games like mario kart aren't as graphically demanding so they can afford to use extra resources on the resolution and the frame rate where a game like killzone is gonna use it on physics, shading, lighting, etc. I was really disappointed to found out killzone isn't 60FPS when titanfall and halo 5 will be 60FPs

30 FPS is objectively better than 60FPS. It's visually more appealing. 60FPS has that unnatural look to it. Everything goes, and happens too fast. It looks unreal. 30FPS has a more cinematic look going for itself. Way easier and the eyes, and it looks way better ingame.

Whiteblade999

Because its all we know.lol

I've played one fps game at 60fps on my PS3 and that was Rage.

Did I notice a difference from all the other 30fps games I'd been playing..............yes.

Did playing that one game at 60fps make all the other games that came after unplayable at 30fps.......................no.

Do I care if a game is 30 or 60fps...................no.

This, with a controller 30 fps is very acceptable, with a KB/M it's very noticeable and not nearly as good as 60fps.

No. Not exactly. Cinema offers a wide variety of spices all necessary for a great curry. Now this doesn't mean that you should leave your dog out during the nights. When tornadoes come, be sure to flush your toilet at least 3 times. What this means for FPS is that you have to ground your child when he has commited something against the house rules. Bad FPS and good FPS can only help...what... people get across the Mississippi, let alone using a grapple or two. It's ridiculous to assume that products like blenders and microwaves will vanish off the market when there's a big chance of rainfall tonight. I think it's best to average an FPS of supply chains that refuse to get with the times and still offer poor costumer-employee relationships. It's not exactly smart to leave the house without a proper pair of shoes when it's snowing out.

MK-Professor

True. Frame rate is extremely important to me. I will lower any other setting or even lower the resolution just to get 60fps. I don't have to do that on the vast majority of games, but on a game like Crysis 3 that's the way I prefer it.

Not only does it impact the quality of the visuals in motion due to the increased temporal resolution (after all games are almost constantly in motion), but it also makes the controls more responsive thanks to the greatly reduced latency. Games simply feel a lot better at 60 (or better yet, 120fps) than they do at 30fps with frame drops down into the 20s.

The difference between 30/60 is MASSIVELY HUGELY BIG. If you are an enthusiast about gaming, you won't settle for less. 120 should be the standard in a few years.

Totally depends on the in-game graphics when it comes to FPS talk. Some games this gen were buttery smooth at 30 fps. But nothing beats 60 fps at high resolution. Reminds me of the old Dreamcast days.

No, it's very noticeable with a gamepad as well.

And visually it can easily be seen in a comparison like this:

http://boallen.com/fps-compare.html

60fps looks much closer to the smooth motion we perceive in real life. 30fps looks jittery.

I've never seen a game be buttery smooth at 30fps. Uncharted 2 has some of the tightest frame timings at 30fps that I have seen (and added motion blur) and even it is noticeably jittery compared to games I play at 60fps.

No it doesn't. You're just used to 30fps.

I can assure you that 60fps is vastly more appealing to my eyes than 30fps. Nothing about 60fps looks unnatural, it looks closer to the smooth movement I see in the day to day world. It's 30fps that looks unnatural.

[QUOTE="freedomfreak"]30 FPS is objectively better than 60FPS. It's visually more appealing. 60FPS has that unnatural look to it. Everything goes, and happens too fast. It looks unreal. 30FPS has a more cinematic look going for itself. Way easier and the eyes, and it looks way better ingame.kalipekona

No it doesn't. You're just used to 30fps.

I can assure you that 60fps is vastly more appealing to my eyes than 30fps. Nothing about 60fps looks unnatural, it looks closer to the smooth movement I see in the day to day world. It's 30fps that looks unnatural.

I play COD pretty much 24/7. I know 60FPS.
