PC online gaming is free.
Can't believe they charge you not only to play, but for maps, content, wallpapers. Hell, everything that was free on the interenet since the beginning of its time is now being charged by MS.
Might as well make a coinslot for the next Xbox.
for what? we've already stolen 2007 and every month of 2008, the waiting is over my friend, it's just a matter of time before PS3 steals north america, who knows it probably already has-theCHUD-
you call heavenly sword, uncharted, lair and R+C a win in 07' hee hee... no... Not only did the 360 blow up the competition in games in 07 but its just as strong as the competition in 08'

Let me put it bluntly. If something is electronic and runs using a programming language of some sorts(even going down to low level stuff) it can and will be hacked. That is why DRM is so ineffective... People spend thousands of dollars making and implementing DRM and in the end... It is going to get hacked. There is no way it can't get hacked. If someone says "hacking this is impossible" give someone two days and it will get hacked... Xbox Live is no more secure than anything else however by using MS points for just about everything, MS made it pointless for anyone to hack because the credit card info isn't there... just a bunch of arbitrarily pointless MS points that are only good for buying things off of Xbox Live... That is ultimately the best way they have kept Xbox Live "secure."
Its not cows you need to convince about live being better, its hermits.
But hey, its hard to justify a sub-par online experience that has to be paid for.
XaosII
are you telling me four dollars and sixteen cents a month is too much for a superior service? i dont understand the "sub-par" aspect

if my memory serves me correct a similar situation happen with XBL a while agoRagashahs
Incorrect. Microsoft had an issue "like" this.. but it was not the same. Some users gave away their account information to whom they thought was Microsoft through email... Ultimately... it is not Microsoft's fault... This on the other hand is all Sony's fault.. which is a quite serious problem giving full access to CC info can lead to largeamountsof fraud cases with thousands of it's users.

the games are only opinion genius, i'm going by the fact that PS3 beat the 360 in sales in 2007 AKA 360's year (halo, mass effect, bioshock etc) what are you gonna say? PS3 has taken every month of 2008 aswell, WAIT OVER
Yes, XBL has never been hacked:

A superior service? What is superior about a service that is outdone in every conceivable way, somewhere else, for free? That should clear up the "sub-par" aspect for you.

Live was hacked too.horrowhip
difference is that Live didn't give away the CC info like PSN does. people can complain about MS points all they want but they protect your credit cards.
I think PSN only give the last 4 digits of the CC.

PSN CCs are protected smart guy. Numbers are shielded by XXXXXX all the CC can be used to is add funds in the Wallet and purchase PSN products which will be refunded to stolen accounts.

im not talking about you PC gamers. unlike you guys i cant afford to spend 1-2 grand on a good gaming PC. so i find it more fiscally conceivable for me to spend the $4.16 a month on a "the superior console online service"

true. however, my point still stands. Your credit card is at risk which is 1000 times worse than losing $20-40 worth of MS points would be.

Welllllll...console users have to spend 1-2 grand on an HDTV :D People ignore this fact, the console doesn't display the picture, you need a television or monitor to do so...

the actual info is still there. I am a programmer. Listen, NOTHING is safe online. EVERY time you use your credit card you put it at risk. Even if it is "protected." The info is there and all a program needs to do it dig and it WILL get that info.
And once that CC is gone, well... more than PSN products will be purchased.
