I'd say both Rangers/celtic as it's still going strong and Ali/Frazier as the most classic duel.

The Cardinals and Cubs because we don't beat the shit out of each and send opposing fans to the hospital because they like a different sports team. I moved to LA right before the Cards advanced to the NLCS. I was petrified of walking into Dodger Stadium after hearing all the awful stories about their violent fans. I stayed home.

Yankees vs the Sox is probably the most publicly recognized rivalry to date, also think Giants vs Jets should be up there.

University of Florida vs. Florida State, if you live down here you gotta pick a side at birth lol.

Some european clubs that compete in multiple sports ( mainly football and Basketball ) really do hate each other

If you ever watched a game such as

Red Star vs Partizan or Olympiacos vs Panathinaikos you will know what i mean. Anything goes from flares to even serious injuries and unfortunately even deaths a few times ( thankfully thinks got a bit more civilized lately but still there is a lot of tension between such kind of games to the point where fans of the opposing team cant watch their team playing in away games against their arch rivals )

True. Football hooliganism is a big problem across Europe.

LOL. Hooliganism and ultras are TWO DIFFERENT things. And beside that: You have to defend your team, city and club colours.
