In a move that figures to have ramifications for several tailbacks who are available either in free agency or via trade, the Houston Texans on Sunday evening reached a contract agreement with unrestricted veteran Ahman Green.

The veteran tailback will sign a four-year, $23 million contract that includes between $6 million-$7 million in guarantees.

I hope this is just insurance for Domanick Davis because i still think he could be a very solid back for a long time.

Well Domanick Williams (he changed his last name) is severly injuried. They don't know if he will ever play football again.

I didnt realize that, but if thats the case they better draft a rb and not place all their bets on Green.  I cant see him being an everydown back anymore.

“I just changed Davis to Williams. I wasn’t really a (Davis). It was my older brother’s Dad’s last name and whatever happened I ended up with Davis. So now that I have kids of my own, a little boy and a little girl, ‘Spike’ (Domanick, Jr.) and Liana, I have to change my name to what it really is, and it’s Williams.”

I agree. DD is very good but injury prone... sounds like Green... Now they have two guys that are very good but could be on the IR list... I hope not at least for DD because I always like picking him up in my fantasy leagues. Very solid numbers when he is in.

"Before the 2006-2007 season, Domanick was placed on Injured Reserve due to a lingering knee injury from the previous season, benching him for the whole season. It is believed by some fans that due to the gravity of Williams' knee injury he may never play another down of professional football."

Knew it was coming, so it wasnt a surprise, Packers looking to draft or trade for new RB possibly, Green was pretty inconsistent at times, with his fumbles and his injuries, still kinda a blow but should free up some money

Maybe to hide the fact that the Texans didnt take Reggie Bush in the draft because they had him.
