it is possible
the day stages in sonic unleashed and the sonic rush games show what is possible with sonic on the next gen consoles and handhelds if done right
Proabably not unless Project Needlemouse ends up being Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and offers a truly new experience like New Super Mario Bros. Wii did. I mean once upon a time in the late 80s you could find Nintendo memorabilia everywhere, then it faded out with the PS1 era and now the Wii is a hit again and Mario and friends merchandise is everywhere again.
But if Sonic wants to top his Genesis days. "Adventure Sonic" didn't cut it. Gamers don't want werehog Sonic or sword Sonic or hoverboard Sonic or gun toting angsty double of Sonic. Sega long lost those who bought the original Genesis trilogy when they decided to ditch the high speed gameplay for hunting birds, massive stories and gimmicks. If Sega wants those old school fans who long left the series back then they need to rekindle the spirt of those old games as opposed to pandering to an inevitably shrinking fanbase.

Because its Sonic Team they haven't made a great Sonic game in 10 years.[QUOTE="sonichedgehog45"][QUOTE="Hyper_Hedgehog"][QUOTE="demoman_chaos"]In short no. In long, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.chocolate1325

Because its Sonic Team they haven't made a great Sonic game in 10 years.yeah true. well in my opinion sonic heroes was a great game so im not sure. and the day levels in sonic unleashed were amazing. so i could say sonicteam has made one and a half great games in the last ten years, along with some good and decent games.
[QUOTE="mariostar0001"]Sonic will, when they are made by Nintendo. sonichedgehog45
that will never happen.
Actually, when you think of it, most of the Sonic titles were well-performed when it's on a Nintendo console.
At this rate, they might as well merge.

hmm never thought of it that way. but still, nintendo only publishes games for THEIR systems. so i doubt sonic would be able to have games on the PS3 and 360 if they merged with nintendo which would be a deal breaker.
Sonic games are almost always better on the Nintendo consoles anyway. ktulu007
well the exclusives are better but the games in general i think are best on the PS3 and 360
Sonic Advance/Battle/Adventure DX/Adventure 2 Battle/the Hedgehog Genesis/Mega Collection/Gems Collection/& the Secret Rings/& the Black Knight/Classics Collection/Rush vs. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006/Mega Collection Plus/Rivals. Nintendo has the worst of all (the Hedgehog Genesis), and misses out on the best of all (Mega Collection Plus), but has all-around better titles. Plus the second worst (the Hedgehog 2006) isn't Nintendo. That's not including multi-platform titles. mariostar0001
yes true. but since sega has went to a publishing company instead of a console maker they make more money publishing games on more than 1 platform and since sonic is there number one seller he will stay multi platformed.

HD graphics don't make Sonic better. The main Sonic audience IE kids have Wiis. Hence why Sonic sells better on Nintendo consoles. For a brief time Sonic was exclusive to the Gamecube but when the Gamecube's sales were poor, he went multiplatform but for the most part the GC versions tended to run the best. Of course the Nintendo consoles had more games. Only the GC had the ports of the two Adventure games. I think most of us agree that Secret Rings was worlds better than Sonic06. Of course there is debate of which version of Unleashed is better and we could debate that all day. The Wii version had better pacing but cut out levels. The 360/PS3 had a better day to night ratio but also forced you to wander around a hub world.
And Sonic's had more exclusive Wii projects of course like Smash Bros. and the two olympic games and despite lack of online Sega Superstar Tennis sold best on the Wii. No one wants to play a Tennis game on a regular console after Wii Sports Tennis and I have a strong feeling the upcoming racing game will sell best on the Wii as well.

all very true, of course sonic sells better on nintendo consoles. seeing as how he is a family character and the wii is the family console. but sonic and sega all-stars racing may sell better on wii but thats not to say bacause its a kart racer it will sell poorly.cactually i think it will sell well on all platforms.
I am intrested to see how Sonic and SEGA All Star Racing sells multiformat. The Wii could have the advantage with controllers on use but what about exclusive characters 360 has Banjo.chocolate1325
yeah. the wii has the wii wheel and the 360 has banjo and kazooi. but what does the PS3 get!? i have a PS3 i want somrthing to:(

maybe Sackboy or Ratchet. Or even Nathan Drake

Banjo isn't exactly a system seller on the 360. His last game bombed remember so I doubt he'll sell that many. Now if the Wii version includes Mario, we could see a lot of sales for that. Mario seems to sell anything. Though for now the Wii just as the Miis.
As for the PS3 doesn't look like you're getting anything special yet. Well at least you can watch Blu Ray movies.

They might not put anyone in it My best prediction would be Sack boy because he would seem to fit but the PS3 is getting Modnation Racers this year and that looks intresting.[QUOTE="nunchuk28"][QUOTE="sonichedgehog45"][QUOTE="chocolate1325"]I am intrested to see how Sonic and SEGA All Star Racing sells multiformat. Meh. Already supposed to be getting Sonic sackboys, so I'm not fussed.

well since sonic and little big planet have an agreement on that it could mean that sack boy could make a guest appearance in one of his games.
What about the DS? We have videos of the PS3, pictures of the Wii, everything on the XBOX 360, but just three lousy pictures for DS. What we need is a preview of it, how good is it, what does it get for being smaller, what got removed, etc. mariostar0001
Nobody cares about the DS version. Just as no one cared about the DS versions of Sega Superstar Tennis and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. The best selling DS games are always the exclusive ones. Most companies just crap out a DS version because it's the best selling console on the market. There's NOT going to be an exclusive character in the DS version. Suck it up and move on!
What's really sad is that we care more about the console exclusive racers if any than the fact we get a whole bunch of great Sega characters. We care more about non Sega characters in a Sega racing game. That's just sad. I guess having Sonic, Shenmue and other Sega characters isn't enough for us. But that's the way it is with any crossover game. The minute Banjo was annouced on the 360 version, now everyone's going to complain if the other versions don't have characters.
But honestly at this point if exclusive characters haven't been annouced at this point, then there won't be any. At least the Wii version allows for Mii support. Maybe the PS3 version will allow for those ugly Home avatars...oh wait no one uses Home.
But I honestly think Banjo's inclusion in the 360 version is part of Xbox's ongoing attempt to promote themselves as a "family" console. Since their signature characters mostly consisted of personality deficient space marines, they borrowed Rare's characters as their own and slapping car Banjo in Sonic's racing game is their attempt to promote this as their answer to "Mario Kart." Just as Modnation Racers is supposedly Sony's Mario Kart. Sega saved MS the trouble of having to make their own family oriented kart racer. Remember when there was going to be the free download of the 360 avatar racer? That fell through so they see Sega's kart racer and said "Hey this could be our Mario Kart! Sonic's a kid friendly character that's recognizable maybe we can throw in an exclusive character. But Master Cheif isn't 'cuddly." Hey lets put Banjo in there. Sure his game bombed and we slashed Rare's staff back to nothingness but this might pull those kids away from their Wiis just as Viva Pinata would've!"
But we have a thread topic for this game so let's GO BACK TO THE OFFICIAL THREAD. thanks.
