I thought it would be a good idea to have something like this. Basically the topic title says it all. If you get stumped somewhere and need help or you just have a question about something, post it here. I'm sure someone here can answer your question. This way we can keep all of the requests for help in one spot.

I don't know if the following qualify for "tips" but I'll give it a try:

First, it is important that you know the layout of all stages, where enemies are stationed, where hazards exist etc. It is important that you also don't get hit at all.

Team Sonic: Team Sonic goes for time. All you have to do is run and attack enemies in your path. No need to go out of your way just to get that 20 ring box or destroy that enemy.

Team Dark: Basically they are the same as Team Sonic, except they have the 100 robots to kill. This time you have to go searching to find those remaining ones.

Team Rose: This team has the easiest missions (but not the faster ones) because of an easier stage layout and less enemies. You need to know where rings are scattered and collect those that are in bunches (for instance it is wise to go out of the main route to get that 20 ring box butit is not if there are only 5 rings). Take into consideration that if you do not have 200 rings when you complete the stage you can continue from the beginning. Rings reappear (if I remember correctly).

Team Chaotix: These guys have the hardest missions to A-rank. It's a matter of knowing the precise location of everything in the stage. I don't remember how many times I replayed Seaside Hill because I ALWAYS had 19 crabs.

One trick I found was for Team Chaotix's BINGO Highway mission. I had trouble positioning myself so as to get the next chip. But you only need 20,000 points so:
- Find a chip that is EASY to collect and DO NOT collect it. Let it there.
- Collect ALL other chips. No need to rush, take your time.
- Once you have all other chips, just go collecting rings and stuff so that you get 20,000 points.
- Collect the last chip => A rank.
I think I needed around half hour for that mission if not more, utilising the above trick.

Same stages plus two special stages (the stages where you get the chaos emeralds). Oh, and SHM is only available with Team Sonic.

Well, you select "Super Hard Mode" from the menu. You know how each team has their own version of each stage? (4 total) It's like adding a 5th version to each stage. Super Hard Mode has no bosses or ranking system, but is lots of fun. They change alot of stuff in it, but the levels keep their basic structures, as always.

The parts I found hard on Super Hard Mode (Minor Spoilers for those who haven't YET played Sonic Heroes as Team Sonic):

- Stage 04: Power Plant - Final area. When you jump to the platform with the Goal Ring, there is no freaking way to avoid getting hit by those turtles. I've only managed a few times to avoid them using Tails and flying up high really quick, but it doesn't always work.
- Stage 07: Rail Canyon - After the first checkpoint, when you grind on those rails to get to the platform with the really long pole, the train goes like mad around it. Only way to avoid it is to switch to Flight formation and fly over it.
- Stage 08: Bullet Station - Bobsled (that's what it's called, right?) part. I have yet to complete that part without losing at least one character. I go at full speed of course, I'm not slowing down.
- Stage 10: Lost Jungle - Alligator Chase. I lose my timing near the 1-up.
- Stage 13: Egg Fleet - Final Area, right before the Goal Ring. If you don't have Team Blast ready, you won't EASILY defeat all those there without losing lives. A level 3 Tails is your saviour there.
- Stage 14: Final Fortress - If you don't conserve your Team Blast for those Egg Behemoths (or what they're called), it will be a hard and maybe painful experience. The rail parts are also harder. And if you're not at FULL speed when grinding the last one, you won't avoid the laser, unless you switch to Tails on time and fly high until the laser expires.

I have managed to complete Super Hard mode without using Team Blast and without losing a life at the same time. But I still haven't managed to complete it without even getting hit at all...

That's true, it's something I oversaw. I have been playing Super Hard Mode without Team Blast as I said in my last sentence, that's why I find it a rather hard part. The same of course also applies to many of the rest parts I consider hard. Anyway, the above parts can be considered as warnings to the player that they should have reserved a Team Blast action for them, especially the last part of Egg Fleet. It is (IMO) the hardest part of the game to beat without a Team Blast.

I ALWAYS save my Team Blast until I'm at the end of my rope, unless I've got another good ace plan up my sleeve.

I can't believe I forgot to comment on that! There are NO special stages on Super Hard Mode. You only go through the 14 stages, they are just slightly adjusted to be harder. Also no bosses as DoctorEggman said.

No, there are special stages in SHM. Look at a FAQ.

Not in the PC version too. I just checked some FAQs on GameFAQs, and there is no mention about Special Stages in Super Hard Mode. Then again, I may have not checked the correct FAQ. Anyway, the Xbox version does not have them (there is a SHM FAQ for it), the GC does not as DoctorEggman said, the PC also does not have it as I said, so that leaves us with the PS2 version. But it buffles me why one version should have them while the rest don't.

Does anyone want a fully completed Sonic Heroes save file for the PC? It is only 2 Kilobytes!!! The save also has Super Hard Mode saved at the beginning of Final Fortress.

I think the guide Paul spoke f is screwed, or there's more to it then simply clearing the last stage. I've seen big errors in Prima's guides before.

I heard somewhere before " dont believe everything you hear and only half af what you read" But seriously some guides do have a few mistakes that cause you to become all dazed and confused, so following the storyline by doing exactly what they say may lead you to a big confusion, and/or loss of time. Im not saying you should not use them, just be on the lookout for errors  or mistakes.

To be fair, it's not always the guides' fault. The Sims 2 site has a post apologizing for a set of errors in the Prima guide to their last Expansion, because AFTER they sent the copy to Prima they changed all the recipes; so none of the ones in the book work, but they were correct for the version the guide was written about. But yes, it's a good idea to be cautious with anything written in a guide...or by a marketing department. Back on topic: My problem is the timed levels in Heroes, particularly the Rail Canyon and its mate. HOW do I cut my time in half to finish in the required time? (This is Sonic Team, and one of the Chaotix ones - I can't manage above an 'E' on the "get to the goal" and can't even come close to finishing the timed versions). Advice would be appreciated.

One big piece of advice I can give you is to not worry about killing every single enemy, as it takes too much time. There are some places where you have to kill enemies to open cages, but if that's not the case, keep moving. The time bonus will make up for it. Secondly, Knuckles (Power Formation) is your best friend. There are quite a few areas in Rail Canyon and Bullet Station than have groups of enemies in them. With Knuckles leveled up, you can wipe them out quickly, saving you precious time. Another small but helpful tip: When grinding on rails, only use Sonic, he grinds the fastest. Hopes this helps you.

Well, STH1&2 and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine are good and fun to play.

Bragging rights? lol. I find myself going for everything even when I know there's nothign much to unlock in the Sonic game. Not that I do it all in one big run, but I find myself coming back to all the different games long after I've beaten them. Oh, here's something fun: The only cheatcode I've ever figured out completely on my own, no interenet or anything: In Sonic 1 at the title screen, press up, down, left, right, then hold A and press start. LEVEL SELECT! WOO!

Metal Sonic is a cool unlockable. Besides, getting emblems in SADX is fun (except for Big) especially Mission Mode. Very fun for me! :D

Yes, it is fun, but right now I am stuck with Sonic's levels being get through as fast as possible (which I am not so good at).

I have all of SADX long since completed except for Tails downhill ski-flags. I cannot even come close. I can get about 6 if I let Sonic beat me, or 3 if I beat him. That one is flat out ridiculous. Actually I've never been certain I know where all the flags actually ARE.

Yes, that one is insane, but I had to beat it. (twice for me ^_^; ) And I finally did. They could have been nice enough to make Tails collect medallions instead of skinny flags which are hard to see from a distance, and which are hard to even touch since they're so damn skinny. :x
Other than that and Big, mission mode is pretty fun. But I guess everything has a good and negative side.

Mission 57, right? That mission had me curse the worst I've ever cursed when playing video games (except when I once got raided by 4 players simultaneously in Age of Empires 3).

I hated that mission.  I wouldn't say it was the worst i've ever cursed at a game, but it was pretty close.
