Actual Sonic Role Playing Game???

I'm confused about something else: Bioware, to the best of my knowledge (and having said that I STILL am too lazy to check if I'm right), has created games only for the PC. The Sonic RPG title is a DS title, which means that it (probably) will look and play radically different than your average west-type RPG (see Baldur's Gate, KOTOR etc.). There won't be mouse functions but touch-screen ones. We ourselves may be perceiving the "RPG" part of the title with an incorrect meaning. It may turn out to not be the usual formula where every character has stats like HP, Attack, Defense etc.. But I don't know if Bioware knows how to create games that are not RPGs in their core.

I'm excited to see how it will turn out. If done correctly, it might be very good. The only thing I'm worried about is if they will be able to keep the same feeling of "speed" that almost every sonic game has kept. It'll be interesting to see DnD applied to Sonic though.ValtheJean

Me too, mostly Sonic games is supposed to be speed, but if they did both ways with RPG with Speed, then it could be incrediable game. Since Bioware is making that game, it shouldn't be a problem, good thing it's not Sega.sbfullmer

I think it'll be were you actually have to select attacks and such, DS is preety simple, unless it's 3-D you might not be able to move like in Kingdom Hearts. Not saying DS is 2-D, (Just looks at Sonic Rush, thats got 3-D like boss fights) I'm saying 3-D action RPGs are usally meant for consoles.

Anyway, I doubt the MMO part. That would mean that the player would have to create his/her own character and that there would have to be endless missions etc. I doubt Bioware would start a so overwhelming project on a platform they have yet no experience with (the DS). Also, not everyone around the world can connect to the DS Network, in contrast there are millions of PCs connected to the Internet. We need more info however (E3 maybe will enlighten us) about what the game will look like and how may it play like. Finally, Sonic Battle is not an RPG, it is a Fighting game with very few RPG elements in it.

Characters I expect to see in the RPG:

Sonic The Hedgehog, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, Miles "Tails" Prower...

Knuckles, Amy, Metal Sonic, Tikal, Shadow, Rouge, E-123 Omega, Silver. Finally, Big will make cameo appearances fishing. I also expect Chao to re-appear at some shrine or somthing, that's why I've also included Tikal.

That's exactly what I've been thinking since day 1 (when I learnt about the development of the game). She was the first character outside Sonic, Tails and Eggman that came to mind regarding awesome to use characters.
