Yes, I do. Would go and browse these stores and their demo kiosks all the time. Wouldn't even buy stuff most of the time. Seeing what was available and holding out for lower prices was part of the fun for me.

Virgin megastores in the UK springs to mind. Used to have a lot of kiosks with new releases on. A Shame they died used to enjoy going there and checking out the new systems.

@warmblur: Best Buy still do those but sadly, they only support current-gen stuff and hardly any last-gen content. Amazon really killed just about every electronic store but I understand using Amazon is more convenient.

Oh is that what they were called?? And true, now my memory has kicked up. They did get bought out by GameStop. Where I lived, there was at least one, maybe 2. From what memory serves, the aesthetics were very nice and you could always find products or merchandise that was cool. In fact, I bought 3 yoshis from them, all different colors.

The thing about GameStop is….the one near me shut down 2 months ago and I don’t know what exactly is going on with them. Last I heard they were shutting down a lot of stores.

Yeah, GS is in a world of hurt I hate that physical media is dying off but I'm not surprised by it.

Small local used games stores near me kinda recreate that. I go to them all the time and buy tons of retro games and consoles.

@warmblur: I really hate how game sizes are really getting out of control. 100+ GB games is pretty stupid, and devs don't seem willing to compress them into more manageable sizes. I prefer physical media, but kinda understand why it's dying. I can still buy old games on physical media at least.

More of the good stuff Target isn't dead but they had one hell of a kiosk back in the day I like the Y2K aesthetic shape to it.

@warmblur: it’s got a modern Blockbuster feel to it.
