is it possible to play windows games on ps3 and if so which linux should i download to do i have read in hundreds of places that it is possible the only real holdback i have got is the linux has to fit on a cd 700 MB for i have no dvd writer and if possible give me a link on how to do it

Sure, it's real. But have you noticed there's a compatibility list? As of now they support only 27 games. Also, you have to make sure you can run one of the Linux distributions listed in the requirements section on your PS3. (Sorry, can't help you with that one)
If you ask me, it's too much hassle for 27 games but if you have the time & patience it would be a nice tech experiment to try.

Sure it's real, but the PS3 version of Linux has no 3D support. You could compile wine (since CrossOver is a x86 binary) and you may be able to play Mine Sweeper... SLOWLY.
