Why is the PS3 design so ugly?

I want to buy a Ps3, but the design is putting me off. It looks like an Easy Bake oven. What can I do to fix this?

Problem solved. Play games while looking away so you don't have to see the PS3 sitting in front of your TV.

I dont think it's ugly.

To be honest I dont really look at it; I tend to concentrate on the ps3 games on my screen and boy do they look gorgeous!

Why does it matter how it looks? you buy a console to play on it, not so stare at it. :P

well, you can hide it or mod the system itself. Personally I don't care about the design as long as I can play game swith it xD

buy the slim, it doesn't look like that.

you just think it is ugly... just like howi think the xbox360 is ugly... if you want the system to stand out in front of your buddies, costum design it so you its pretty

Its what's on the inside that counts, cuz "it only does everything". How much time do you think you'll spend staring at your ps3? I just use mine to play quality games and watch movies.redskins2156

I have never once thought about the design of ANY console machine. I don't buy game systems as furniture. I buy them to game on (And watch Blu-ray, in the PS3's case). As long as they fit in the entertainment center, it's all good.

I've never heard of people caring about a system's looks so much that they won't buy an excellent product because how it looks.

I think it looks bold and sophisticated...but, in any case, I could care less about how it looks as much as it performs.

I agree, PS3 and 360 need some sweet LED neon lights, custom spinning buttons and paint job.
