all i can see here are games that are both on xbox and on ps3 why are we not getting as many exclusives as they are sure it came out first but by now we should have the big ones in

besides MGS4 whats the next big tittle heading our way "haze fazed out lol" but yeah killzone 2 looks promising why are we not getting some good RTS's also ???

i think sony should get us games like the acecombat serise back to ps3 and exclusive

some explanation of the problem would be great ^_^

It's only a matter of time until the exclusives disapear. For the producers prespective they better chances of having profits if they go multiplatforms, on the other hand both microsoft and sony cannot afford to give bennefits to the producers so they go exclusives, this because of market condition.

This problem has it's solution, i believe, it's in the capability of producing game. For example, sony produced God of War (if i'm not mistaken). It's going to be interesting to see what both companies will ofer to the players.

i beleive that sony has many more in house studios than the other guys. it should only be a matter of time before we see that start to pay off. the good thing about sony having so many in house studios is that these game will probably stay with sony forever (such as god of war, ratchet, uncharted, resistance) where as games like bioshock and other games not developed by the maker of the console will most likely become multi plat.

Resistance 2-Fall 08
LittleBigPlanet-Fall 08
Motorstorm 2-Fall 08
Killzone 2-Spring 09

Plus you have the exclusives already out and the EXCELLENT multiplats (exclusives arn't everything). Just be patient. Ask yourself this: Would you rather have a REALLY GOOD game because they took their time, or a really sucky game because they rushed it?

Well a big reason for a lack of exclusives is Microsoft's ability to throw tons of $$'s in front of developers to open their horizons. This is becoming more and more habitual for Microsoft, securing exclusive content for GTA IV and the like.

It's true, it is. As long as the game is done well for said platform and not being lazy port with bugs and frame-rate issues amongst other problems.

There is a reason why consoles have exclusive games, it's just that majority of developers are not using the aspects it offers most of the time.

Do you honestly believe GTA IV for example wouldn't had been "bigger" game if Rockstar decided to tap into PS3 capabilities? Instead they haven't and multiplatform product was accepted for what it is. That's just my rationalisation.

PS3 3 is a year latter. Remember that fact, plus newer tech.

And anyone can build a overhyped game in 2 years. But good games take time like fine wine. As does working with more techincal hardwear

In the next 12months we should see

MGS4

Killzone 2

RESISTANCE 2

God of War 3

FF 13

FF 13 versus

The Agency

Motostorm 2

Little Big Planet

Infamous

GT 5

Siren

The Getaway

Team Ico Project "Which is TWO games"

SOCOCM online

Socom the series "Different developer"

sequels that are almost a sure thing

Maybe KH3

Twisted Metal PS3 "Acertain"

Uncharted 2

RandC again

Sly

Jak and Dakter

And things like "Heavy rain"

Japans "Afrika??"
And tuns of mutis of course you know RE4 SH Madden, all that junk.

You have to understand the huge exclusives (FFXIII, GT5, KZ2) will have to be literally perfect for sony to let them be released. Sony wants to blow everyone away and I can assure you when 2009 comes around we will be in awe of these games greatness.

On another note however, are you really going to get bored with MGS4, LBP, Resistance2, SOCOM Confrontation etc.?

Who cares if games are exclusives? Why should a game be limited to one system? Are 360 owners not allowed to enjoy a good game from the PS3?

Put it this way only 30% of sony's first party has made a ps 3 so from 2008-2009 the other 60% will have a new game to give us plus 2 to 3 gen of games from the ones that have made a ps 3 game.

The overlap effect "thats exactly the same thing that happened with the PS2." And when it poured games. It poured!!!! Everywhere, games, games, games. And not these rushed junkers. But solid game, one after another after another. And this was on a system "PS2" that had nothing its first year. But they rather risk that first year, for more quality latter. Which in turns equals more quantity also. With multi systems and thirds. And so its this mad rush of quantity and quality at the same time.

No. It's more important to play exclusive games. The only fast way to for games to innovate, is to have it stay exclusive. I leave the rational to you, but here's a hint, it has to do with resources.

No. It's more important to play exclusive games. The only fast way to for games to innovate, is to have it stay exclusive. I leave the rational to you, but here's a hint, it has to do with resources.

meaning the systems are built two ways.

Say you work on cars. You have two completely different cars. But you have the same suspenion package to give them. You can try and make it work on both. But youll tend to lean towards the basic old easy one you know. And get it right on that, before you stick it on the complexed race machine.

BUT!!! it wont work really well on the better racing machine will it "Half Life 2?" Why,,, because you built it for the basic old car.

But ,,If you only have to build a setup for the race machine. Granted its not as easy on a higher end machine. but when you do get it down. You get one heck of a set up. Not two average ones. You get the most of what you can do. And after you have done that. When they want a better tweaked version of it latter. You already have a idea on what to do. Its already outlined. In fact you can build different set ups "Games" for that same car, based off of the great one you already have.

Something like that lol

Now this is where the problem of gaming is toady. Lowered to the standards of the older car. US Gamers want to drive the old car. Thus the old car runs better via more attention. So were at the old junker level of gaming by choice. Gamers dont what the high end apparently. In the end, Its up to the gamer to decide who they feed, and what they get out of it.

this is how i see it. exclusives are generally so much better looking than multiplats. we usually get the short end of the stick on multiplats. our exclusives are underrated cuz reviewers are overly picky with ps3 games when they knowalot of our games deserve very high scores.

No, you are so wrong here. PC gaming is not MS exclusive. I tell you why here:

Nintedo, Sony both make the console, but the operating system in the console aren't made by Sony and Nintedo. But you still say a sony/nintedo exclusive game exclusive to Sony/nintendo. You don't say that they are exclusive to the operating system on the consoles.

Same thing as PC. Microsoft don't make PC whatsoever. They make the operating system. So you shouldn't say those games on PC are MS exclusive. If they are exclusive games on PC only, then they are exclusive to PC, but not to MS.

It's all economics.

Developers put out exclusives where they know they will get the most return.

Hence they release games on consoles that have a huge fanbase.

If Sony published the game they would make money not if they made the PC. Dell don't make money from games sold on PC. For god sake you can build your own PC and you won't get any money from game sales. Its the developers and Publishers who make all the money with out having to give, Microsoft or Sony their cut. PC isn't owned by any one company its a product like a TV which any company can make.

If microsoft release thier games on PC thier still exclusive to MS.

Cold hard fact is that 360 is outselling the PS3 and from what I've heard, companies have an easier time programming for the 360. Truth be told, the PS3 is getting far better exclusives anyways. I'm most anticipating the (hopefully in development) God of War 3. Besides that, there is MGS4 which looks and sounds absolutely incredible and Final Fantasy XIII.

Uh, North American sales as of April have the 360 over the PS3's sales (188k to 187k).

Find me the numbers for the UK, I don't know what they call their industry releases over there.

And Japan? Neither system sells above 70k a month so why even bother.

EDIT: First numbers were from April 2007, my bad.

Good list there nextgen, it just takes time.

Also if you look at the 360 you'll notice that they don't really have any exclusives, they are also released on the PC either along side the game or shortly after the 360 release. Example: Halo franchise, Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc.

You do know the PC is a MS platform so they still are exculsive to MS. Also can't wait for infinate undiscovery

Halo, Mass Effect and Bioshock where release on Games for Windows a MS platform. So MS make money from them.

So if I played all three of those games on my Sony PC, Sony didn't make money from them? Again, PC is the platform, not windows.

Some of those games such as Halo are also released on Apple computers. So they aren't even PC exclusives.

The PC shouldn't be compared to consoles when it comes to exclusivity, since it's an open platform (although it makes the most financial sense to release a game for Windows, since most PC owners have that), but remember this: Halo did come out for the Mac.
