well i think he's got it right , but everyone is entitled to their opinion , personally i enjoyed GTA's campaign but after that it just started collecting dust , hated the fact that there were only 2 kinds of pistols , like 3 smg , 2 assaults , 2 throwing weapons and 1 heavy weapon , dont care about the fact that the planes where missing , just that it lacked a lot of other stuff to make it as fun as the previous ones , still a great achievement for this generation of gaming
I think this question should be reserved until 2009. As you all know, 2008 isn't quite over yet. In fact, we're only a little over 1/2 way done. Too soon to know the true answer to this inquiry.

That's what happened to MGS4 for me. Finished it and threw it on the shelf to collect dust. It just seemed like there was too much watching and not enough playing. Once playing through it, then I didn't see any need to go through it again. Maybe I'll go through it again in a year or so, but I was bored by it near the end, so yeah...

In my opinion MGS series has never been for every gamer , i've loved it since the first one so thats why i enjoyed this one so much , i even went through the trouble of getting big boss emblem , MGO is pretty good once you get the hang of it , but GTAIV didnt have anything much to do after the storyline was complete , suuure you can blow stuff and attract the police attention , but it gets boring very quickly and the online is laughable at best , especially since in free mode all you want to do is have fun but there are always idiots that turn it into a deathmatch even though you dont even get points

I play GTA IV online every single day and it's fun, yet it performs very well with 16 players and an entire city streaming. I don't see what's "laughable". Different strokes for different folks. More poeple are playing GTA IV online, though.

well for some reason there have been more people than usual on MGO lately at least 3 servers full , and as you just said we have very different tastes and i respect your point of view as i expect you to respect mine

Metal Gear Solid 4 beats everything by far, in fact it's the best game this generation.

if you were to compare the time played in total for each game - even cap the gta4 useres to match that of MGS4, there will be many, many more hours of playing, actual playing, actually, even with the 10 hours of movies from MGS4 included in the calculation - GTA4's time will greatly outnumber MGS4's.

What the hell are you on about? GTA4 was complete and utter crap. Took me about 3 or 4 hours of gameplay to fully realize it and haven't touched it since. Absolutely horrible game, surely the most overrated of all time.
MGS4 on the other hand is pure fun. Have played it through 8 times and still going. Over 100+ hours of fun.
