Seriously, just don't buy the game. Resistance 2 and Killzone has the potential to be great games similar to COD4, but it's possible that they can score an 8.5, or flop. So by your logic, if KZ2/R2 don't get 9.0 or higher, doesn't have a mapmaker, then you shouldn't get those games either. You favor those games more than Haze because of what, the delays? Maybe you know something that we don't.
No one is trying to impress you to get anything. Free Radical has a good rep and I'm almost certain that they will deliver. Haze, once released, will be in my collection.

I have heard about the gamestop/ebgames offer of where you buy the game and if you return it within one week of that purchase you get a full refund of instore credit. I still don't think thats enough for me, its not really what I want. In order for me to consider buying this game it has to recieve an avg review of 9.0 on gamerankings preferably a 9.5. Why so high because I have cod4 to play and in a few months killzone/resistance 2 will be out. Another thing that would make me consider buying this game is if they included a mapmaker with it to where you can play those created maps online as well. Its going to take a lot more than a full refund to get me to buy the game. I don't have anything against the company that made the game as a matter of fact I like the company alot but in this case with this game they are in a bad spot unless they have a hell of a lot to offer.

Odds are I won't buy it. I don't go by those standarts of avg 9 or 9.5 for most games but seeing as I'm not in a need right now for an fps game then the standards are going to be higher than usual. Now if an fps game had not been released in awhile or I have not been playing one a whole lot, yeah the standards are not as high. As for Resistance/killzone 2 yeah those games can flop as well and if they do I won't be buying them either....I don't favor any company over anyone else based on their reputation, I'm a business man when comes to buying games a fair weather kind of guy when it comes to this. Delays are one thing to think about before buying a game because its extra time by game company spent making the game. I also like to factor in how many people and the kind of budget the game companies put into games and I think everyone knows Killzone 2 has this going on for it big time. As for Resistance 2 it offers the rumored 60 man multiplayer with other new things as well. As for Haze being delayed...I just thought they delayed it, to not only work on the game some more but more importantly not release the game around COD4 and other big time shooters.
Like I said I'm not really needing an fps game but if this game can bring me bigger/more multiplayer maps than cod4, along with bigger weapon selection, more new/creative things added to the genre, and possibly a map maker than I will consider the game. Like I said they are in a bad position with the game. There are many other games that I do plan to buy like GTA4, MGS4, SF2 HD Remix, Wipeout HD, and other games but none of which are an fps game.
Oh there is one or so ways around the map maker but its going to require more effort on FR part than just some deal with ebgames/gamestop. I'm talking about the kind of deal where they make one multiplayer map for every week for the next 3 months or so and yes those would have to be free. Sounds like a much better offer than the ebgames/gamestop kind of deal. I don't see the game coming out with as more or as many maps as COD4 and I don't think they will be bigger. I can be hard to please and in this case I am. Also, these maps would have to be decent to good quality maps for this to work then more and more people would perhaps buy the game over time.
