What classic franchises could/should be revived?

Hey all, I know this topic has surfaced time and time again, but with E3 right around the corner, it's always a fun time to play the "what if?" game.

For fun, just pretend that legalities and other impossibles don't apply- what do you personally want to see come back, or most likely think would?

I would love to see a Legend of Dragoon and MediEvil reboot- those are two series that could have really gone far I think had they been pushed past PS1. I'm still hoping to hear from Parappa and Jet Moto, too.

Hands down Onimusha.

I would love to see Onimusha, Jet moto, and maybe a new Wipeout. I think Silent Bomber would be cool too. I really want a fun arcadey racing game. Something with massive jumps and tons of speed. Jet Moto is like that with a hint of Road Rash thrown in and Wipeout is that with guns, but they need to be faster and more grand. HUGE JUMPS!!!

Jak&Dexter, Dark Cloud, Syphon Filter, SOCOM, Onimusha, Dino Crisis, MediEvil, Legacy of Kain, Command & Conquer, Total Annihilation, Rival Schools, King of Fighters, Ape Escape & Tenchu

The original game play for Command & Conquer. Even better....Command & Conquer: Red Alert!!! I remember my brother and me would put two box TVs back-to-back and connect two PlayStation and play Red Alert 2 for hours. The only problem I can see now are those who know codes or cheats and would exploit the game to where it wouldn't be beneficial or worth it anymore. I would also like to see HD, or at least remastered versions of Resident Evil 1, 2, 3 and Code Veronica. They have amazing stories and I honestly think bringing them back would show a newer generation why those of us in the 90's were obsessed with Resident Evil. Bring back SOCOM I and II. Just remaster the game. Don't add anything "new" to it...just update the graphics and let the SOCOM community have our experience again. HD versions of Star Wars Battlefront I and II.

i second ape escape. i would also like to see a proper valkyria chronicles and parasite eve sequel on consoles. zone of the enders revival has always been on my mind but i know it is never happening.

Most of all, I'd love to see Level 5 bring back Dark Cloud. The franchise was way ahead of it's time, and it used the consoles abilities extremely well. With the power behind our current generation, there's great potential for this dungeon based series. Malta_1980 mentioned Tenchu, and as bad as Tenchu Z was, I really enjoyed it for what it was. I'd love to see it make a comeback. Aside from that, Syphon Philter, Jet Force Gemini, or Socom are great mentions.

Do a proper Twisted Metal game for PS4. Modern graphics. The classic characters and the best locations like Paris, LA, Tokyo etc. Make it a 100% effort and not a rush job pos that the PS3 game was.

I would love to see another Viewtiful Joe, Crash Bandicoot, Jet Set Radio, and a third-person action game in the vein of MK: Shaolin Monks/The Warriors/The Punisher.

I'd like to see another River City Ransom with more levels and humor. Jet Moto and Spider as well.

My only real problem with the PS3 Twisted Metal was the story mode. They were trying waaaay to hard to make it dark and gritty. Car combat games are not something people take seriously, no matter how many times you have an eight-year old shoot someone. They should develop a new game and at least try to make it look like they had fun doing so.

I'd also like to see more Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero, and a proper conclusion to Legacy of Kain.

Ha Would say Final Fantasy, but SquareEnix has already answered that question! Not only are they redoing FF 7, but they also said why not 5 and 6?

A franchise that had more busts than greats is Secret of Mana. The first released in the States, second in Japan, was Secret of Mana. That game was of epic proportions in my opinion. Would love a remake, but it'd have to involve an extreme amount of focus/dedication. Otherwise pass on it.
